Dundee Utd Tickets FAQ

The ticketing arrangements for both legs of the Play Off Final have been confusing and frustrating and a bit of a mess at times. Here's a list of questions and answers we've compiled that will HOPEFULLY help some Buddies and save people some time queuing at the stadium.

AWAY LEG THURSDAY 23rd May 1945 KO

  • How many tickets are available?

We got given around 1200 tickets for Tannadice. These are only available to season ticket holders who can buy up to 2 per person.

  • What tickets are available?

We are in the Fair Play Stand which has an upper tier (already sold out) and a lower tier.

There are also some restricted view tickets available. I'm guessing they will be the last to go.

  • I'm not a season ticket holder, can I buy seats?

No. You can only buy tickets for Tannadice if you are a season ticket holder and even then they are limited to 2 per person.

  • Can I buy tickets on behalf of friends who are on my friend list?

    Incredibly, no you can't!

Each member of your group will need to login separately and purchase their ticket(s) up to a maximum of two.

One person can go down and collect them all (I would take the email receipts if you can or at least the name and the transaction IDs)

  • I don't live in Paisley, how can I get a ticket?

Good question. Unless you can get someone in Paisley to collect them and bring them through to Dundee and meet you then it's going to be difficult as the club is not offering postal options for this game given the short time between them going on sale (Monday 5pm) and the game itself (Thursday 7:45pm).

  • I can't login to the ticketing website

Until yesterday the ticketing website was not sending out emails. If anyone was unable to login they clicked the "forgot password" link which caused the system to change their password to a new randomly generated one but the user never received an email with the details thus completely locking them out of their account, even if they subsequently remembered the original password!

Users were also unable to create new accounts using the same email address as their original one.

The email problem has been fixed now so you should now be able to reset your password by clicking here

Note that the automated email will almost certainly land in your junk mail folder as at the time of writing it is being sent by "This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it." rather than the correct sender which should be "This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.".

  • How do I collect tickets I've purchased?

Ticket collections are now available from the main ticket office.

  • How long should I wait to go and collect tickets I've ordered?

The club recommend leaving at least 4 hours between ordering online and then attempting to go down and collect tickets.

Update (Weds); All tickets ordered on Monday or Tuesday are now ready for uplift from reception.

  • Should I get an email receipt when I buy?

Yes you should, now at any rate. Emails were not being sent out by the ticketing website but that was fixed on Monday at about 2pm so any purchases after that should have generated an email receipt.

You shouldn't actually need the receipt. As long as the purchase is showing under "My Account" then you can be sure that it's gone through.

Note your transaction number down if you don't have the receipt and head to the stadium reception to collect them.

  • Will I be able to buy a ticket on the day of the game?

Our own ticket office is open on Thursday so if there are any still remaining then it's a slim possibility. You won't get one at Tannadice for the away end though.

You might be able to buy a ticket for the home end but I wouldn't recommend it!

  • What time is the ticket office open this week?

    For the away game these are the times you'll be interested in;

    Tuesday 21st, 10am till 7pm

    Weds 22nd, 10am till 4pm

    Thurs 23rd, 10am till 7pm

  • Where should I sit at Tannadice?

You'll need to go to the correct tier (Upper or Lower) and each ticket will have a seat number on it obviously.

I can't really advise anyone what to do other than be sensible. There will be families there whose kids will have seats separate from the adults they are with through no fault of their own.

Ideally I think everyone should sit where they like on a first come first served basis but it's not up to me! Common sense will need to apply hopefully and the fans will be able to sort out among ourselves.

  • Are we going to win?

Do we ever win at Tannadice?

HOME LEG SUNDAY 26TH May 1500 KO

  • How many tickets are available?

Dundee Utd have been given the usual away end in the North Stand, which is about 1600 or so. Our ground holds just under 8,000 so we have around 6000 tickets available for Saints fans with the other few hundred being taken up by the corporate hospitality tickets.

  • Season Ticket Holders - Buying Your Usual Seat

Season ticket holders had until 7pm on Tuesday 21st May to buy their usual seat. That hold has now been lifted and tickets are on general sale with no restrictions.

Tickets can be purchased via https://www.smfctickets.co.uk

If you are a season ticket holder you can add the game to your existing Smart Card. You just need to choose the name of the season ticket holder to assign to each seat at the checkout stage using the drop down list that appears next to each ticket (it will show a default of "Un-named Customer"). If you do that then you don't need to do anything else, just turn up on the day of the game and scan your existing Smart Card to get in. No need to go to the ticket office.

  • My usual seat looks like it's already been bought?

The club made a gigantic cock-up last Saturday and initially opened the whole ground up to general sale, meaning fans were able to buy any seat they liked, regardless of whether it was a season ticket holders usual seat or not. This meant inevitably that some season ticket holders couldn't buy their own seat and the ripple effect was that they then just bought the nearest available one they could see, thus compunding the problem. Nobody seems to know how many were affected by this issue.

This error was corrected sometime on Sunday afternoon but not before plenty season ticket holders had "lost" their usual seat.

The clubs advice was that those season ticket holders should purchase another available seat.

  • Can I buy other "non-season ticket" seats right now?

Yes. There is no restriction on sales now.

There's no doubt at all that this game will be a total sell-out so be quick.

  • I'm not a season ticket holder, can I buy seats?

Yes, we are now in the general sale period.

You can buy online at smfctickets.co.uk or by going down to the ticket office and joining the queue. I wouldn't recommend phoning as you've got very little chance of getting through!

  • I don't live in Paisley, how can I get a ticket?

For the home game if you purchase online and can't allocate to an existing smart-card you can request to collect paper tickets on the day at the stadium or you can still have them posted out to you (I expect that postal option will be withdrawn by Wednesday).

  • I can't get the seating plan to load on the ticketing website

A common problem. This is all to do with Adobe Flash which is the outdated technology that the seating plan uses to load. My advice is to use a desktop or laptop computer to access the ticketing site and to use the Google Chrome or Firefox internet browser. In fact the older your browser the better, I imagine Internet Explorer probably works pretty well even though it's been dead for about 10 years!

Download and install the latest version of Flash here

  • What about using the ticketing site on my mobile or tablet?

The ticketing website experience on mobiles and tablets, particularly on iPhone and iPad, is pretty horrendous. You should still be able to buy tickets but you won't be able to see any seating plan and you cannot install Flash on Apple devices. On mobile you get some sort of drop-down list to choose seats but it's very clunky.

My advice, borrow or beg for access to a good old fashioned computer or laptop, you'll almost certainly have more joy using them!

  • How do I collect tickets I've purchased?

Ticket collections are now from the normal ticket office up until Matchday.

On the day of the game as usual from the Kabin at the West Stand for tickets there and at the ticket office for the Main and Family Stands.

  • How long should I wait to go and collect tickets I've ordered?

The club recommend leaving at least 4 hours between ordering online and then attempting to go down and collect tickets.

If you are collecting tickets for the home game it would be sensible to wait until Friday or Sunday as at least then there won't also be queues of folk collecting for the away game too!

  • Should I get an email receipt when I buy?

Yes you should, now at any rate. Emails were not being sent out by the ticketing website but that was fixed on Monday at about 2pm so any purchases after that should have generated an email receipt.

You shouldn't actually need the receipt. As long as the purchase is showing under "My Account" then you can be sure that it's gone through.

Again, if you've bought your usual seat and selected your name at the checkout against that seat then you don't need a paper ticket, your Smart Card will get you in on Sunday.

It might be prudent to also take a screenshot of your transaction on the website, just in case there are any difficulties getting in on Sunday!

  • Will I be able to buy a ticket on the day of the game?

Highly doubtful I would say. If you want to go to this game then strong advice is to buy a ticket ASAP. The game WILL be sold out.

  • What time is the ticket office open this week?

    Tuesday 21st, 10am till 7pm

    Weds 22nd, 10am till 4pm

    Thurs 23rd, 10am till 7pm

    Fri 24th, 10am till 4pm

    Sat 25th, CLOSED

Sun 26th, Matchday, 10am till kick off (3pm)

  • Can I buy hospitality tickets?

No, hospitality sold out completely early on Tuesday 21st May. It's full I'm afraid!

  • Are we going to win?

    Let's fucking hope so. COYS!
