as for printing instructions on the card itself we didn't have the man-power or time so decided against that idea.

Just a thought for the future - I realise printing the instructions on the card is a waste of time and money but printed labels stuck on the cards would do just as well.

I use a lot of A4 sized sheets of labels at work - each has 24 labels on it, but you can buy them with more, and they can be run through the printer as a normal sheet of paper. This would be a lot cheaper than having to print each sheet.

I see from the pictures below someone took the time to sellotape all the sheets onto the seats, the label could have been stuck down at the same time. They needn't say anything complicated, just a message saying 'hold the card up at xxx time' would have helped co-ordinate it all a little better.

I know you hoped that once one group held it up it would cause a wave, but all it takes is a wee group of people in the middle not paying any attention to spoil the whole lot.

Edit: example...

Good point!! We are open to suggestions, the Supras isn't a closed group so any input from anyone is appreciated!

It costs to put on displays and for the first home match at the new stadium we are planning our most expensive one so far. If anyone wishes to make a contribution towards the costs involved, you can do so using PayPal on our site CLICK HERE or give cash to any of our members. All donations are used for displays and are greatly appreciated.

Eddy, feel free to use my photographs of the stadium from the 5 posts just before yours. You mentioned you liked the view from the back of the Caley stand.
Edited due to stupid mistake.

Here's a photograph from Twinkle Toes that deserves a place in this thread also.

Unfortunately, to cover the full NB and 3/5 of the RK which we did, would have required approaching 5000 labels. Following your link that would have cost nearly £500.

£500??? Not sure what type of calculator you are using there!
36 labels per sheet, 100 sheets per box = 3,600 labels per box - at £12.99 you would need less than 2 boxes to cover the 5000 you mentioned. Would I even have suggested it if it had cost that much?

Nice to see you guys with the banner today. Thoguht it was class the other night when I saw it but was better in person. Good job - the more we get at games the merrier I say. :)

The flag display seemed to go well yeah, which obviously I and the rest of the group are pleased about. :) Was a lot of work obviously - we managed to get ahold of some very large polythene rolls in black, white & red which we cut up and stuck onto the canes at folk's houses and at two workshops the last 2 sundays.

In the end up, there was probably around 600 or so flags, with a little over 250 black & white each and 100+ red. We put them out on every other seat across the central 3 sections in the West Stand rather than every seat, so as to give folk room enough to wave them (and to cut down on the numbers we had to do a bit so more sections could get involved). Ended up having some extra which we used to pack those sections out a little more as it was a bit tight on another section and to do W2/6 you'd have needed the other done as well for it to be symmetrical. We were down at 9am putting them out with little problem (other than the Setanta boys being concerned about the view down to pitch level with their main camera - took a couple out for them but left it otherwise unchanged).

Idea was to do red at the top and bottom of W3 & W5, and the bottom of W4...then split the middle of the 3 sections each in two, half black, half white to mimic the effect of stripes. Obviously you can't see the black ones so well as white but hey, you've gotta use it when it's our colours...and the layout kept it simple enough that you could tell what it was meant to be even if not everyone took part. Had made a few larger ones as well as you may have noticed (me waving a triple size one down the front like a mentalist... :P )...the intention was to get a couple of double sized ones to the Pandas if they were out and about but they said after the march they weren't doing the trackside routine today, which was a pity...no doubt down to the fireworks display. Thought they'd like a bamboo shoot each. :P

We managed to get the vast majority of them back in post match - will give them a once over and see how many can be cleaned up and salvaged for a future display as happened with the bagflags. We do have a shitload of the polythene left though, so we can no doubt repeat the display at a later date, and/or make some large scale stuff.

Thanks to everyone that took part. It was much appreciated. :)

First of two posts with photos and video links from the day of the first match at the new stadium.

The camera had the wrong date stamp, hence the improvisation.

I believe Brian Caldwell told the SUPRAS that they were not allowed the Scottish Cup banner, when it was brought to the Motherwell replay, as it breached fire regulations.
Danny Lennon is the man :)

That was a quick reply Hollz. Four minutes after I posted two lots of photos and videos.
How did you manage to connect to YouTube and watch the five videos in that time?

In connection with the Scottish Cup banner, I hope to meet Brian Caldwell to clarify the situation in the morning.

Would people like to see it displayed on Saturday?

Just back from the ground after SMFCOK & I had a quick chat with Brian Caldwell.

He's said it's no problem to take it in tomorrow and will give the authorities the heads up. It is NOT a fire hazard. Whatever gave folk that idea is beyond me. It will, therefore, be present.

Oh, and the conversation was witnessed by someone meeting him from the SFA as well, so that's further backup. :P
