Why not just do what you usually do at the football ? - we dont need to go around forming into groups called the Utras or some other pish ( by the way the red ultras are all fannies).

Are we not Saints fans ? - Is that not enough or are going to have folk stripping off in the middle of winter to show how dedicated they are and other such behaviour?

Saints fans are the best anyway, all you would do in forming a 'hard core' is attracted attention from the polis and from casual elements from other teams.

Or is that what you're really after ?

As I say, any display would require the permission of the club and police and would be closely monitored by them. Do you really think that if we wanted to fight with casuals, we'd be publicising ourselves on this site, speaking to the club or police or going to the bother of making flags?

If you're not interested, you don't need to post. If you have anything constructive to say, that would be appreciated; if not don't bother in future, thanks.

This is not a bad idea at all and if it improves the pish atmosphere at LS I'm all for it.
You talk about "we".Who are we,how many Buds are already involved?
I'd rather shag a bucket with a big hole in it,than be a M*rt*n fan for just one minute.

I did have something to say and now i've said it - just dont see the need for it - Oh and the polis keep a close eye on the red ultras (they really are twats and hardly a role model).

PS - I thought it was constructive, just my opinion, on a forum, for saints fans - but if you dont like it - i'll keep it to myself and let you and your wee play mates get on with forming the blackandwhite Ulras or whatever !! :P

Thanks.

"We" is several guys with lots of ideas and enthusiasm. What we need is enough interest from enough people to actually be able to realise those ideas!

I don't know the Red Ultras personally, but the work they do is to be admired in terms of their displays. Again, the police will keep a close eye on anyone wanting to hold a display, and that isn't a problem!

It won't be for everyone, and if it's not for you, then fair enough. There's no need to try to suggest that we are looking for trouble when that is patently not the case and doesn't help anyone, or that we are fannies for trying something new. Maybe you'll change your mind if it all gets off the ground and we can have some displays.

The first bout of ultra type behaviour was at the rather damp B&Q cup final when the 'John Mowat 77' who ran a bus from Borgia had a 30ft up the terracing 'Borgia Saints' banner..............

This was due to the stupid cow that machined it for us making an arse of her handicraft work...................

She sewed the middle panel in the wrong way.........................

We already have an ultras wing, think theyre called the LOVE STREET DIVISION, should you wish to merge your ultras with these guys then let me know and ill get you in touch with them :P

incidently the red ultras have been smashed by hibs before at easter rd as they mistook them for casuals as none of them wore colours and were wearing casual type clothes.

I have to say this is what springs to mind with the term 'Ultras' also. All for a positive colourful image of the Saints as long as nobody gets the wrong idea.....

Yep got to agree with those sentiments. Ultras sadly has bad conitations.

It would be nice to get a section with hardcore fans that never stop singing. Mind you despite Aberdeens Ultras it was agreed that Saints fans were louder at Pittodrie and never stopped singing.

there may not be a specific section as such - but think most of us know that there is a quite a few of us who go to all the away games and sing as much as possible.

at home we do have a section - it's called the northbank!

A wee story...

About 10 years ago myself and my daughter made a Saints flag using a white double bedsheet with a large PVC design of 'The Saint' from the old Buds programmes. At a game at Love St , behind the North Bank, I approached a senior Steward (well, he did have a walkie-talkie) and asked if I could hang the flag on the wall at the back. He contacted his superior who told him that he would have to ask the Police match commander for permission (why?). The conversation between the Police and myself (relayed back and forth by the steward) went sumfin like this:

Police: Will the flag obstuct any signs on the wall?
Me: No
Police: Does the flag have poles?
Me: No
P: does it have chains (!?)
M: No, but it does have string on each corner to tie it up with
P: Does it say anything derogatory about the opposition?
M: No
P: Does it say anything derogatory about anyone?
M: No
P: Does it have any words on it?
M: No
P: Will it block anyones view?
M: No, it will hang on the wall, at the back
... after a looong pause, the steward, rather apologetically informed me:
I'm afraid the answer is NO!

Ach well, stupid of me I suppose, it should have been a Union Jack or Tricolor with FTP or FTQ on it and it would have been okay. Go figure...

The flag was shown a couple of times at away games by my mates son (remember Mark?).
It seems that only away fans can display flags at Love St., or is it just my imagination?

Cheers Fur Noo!

I've got a large flag and tbh, it's a pain in the ass to carry about so it isn't out much.
