Saw yesterday that he was struggling. It's a blow but we do have cover. Barron at left back and Vanzy at right back works ok for me.

Tess in all fairness hasn't been nearly as good going forward as he was earlier in the season but you can't knock his defensive qualities too much.

The unit of four has certainly tightened up in recent games so to disrupt that is a blow.

On a brighter note Kenny McLean will be back in training next week and hopes to be pushing for a game against Hibs at Easter Road.
He's back and he's fit..... so get McGregor up front Lennon !

This is a bummer, but I suppose it's part and parcel of the game and something we all expected to see. I think the defence has held up much better than expected and with Barron making a good come back, he should be able to slot into Tess's position all DVZ to fall back in at right back. All should be ok.

Tess has been a great signing  , and I hope we can get him signed up for a new contract , but I think his form has dipped since the turn of the year , which makes me wonder if hehas been carrying a slight injury since then , hopefully the rest will do him good .

Major loss.  Has Tess played every minute of every match this year?  He is the best left back i can remember at the club.

We have no natural replacement so either Mair, Carey, McAusland, Barron or DVZ will have to play out of position to fill the void.   Barron played there for the majority of Gus's final season and in the cup final so i imagine he will be the one who gets the nod with Vanzy returning at right back.

We lost two bodies in January - Haddad and McShane - and the fact we replaced neither and have had a few injuries has really hit the squad hard.  3 kids who haven't played 5 minutes worth of first team football between them were on the bench on Saturday.  I imagine it will be 4 this coming Saturday now Tess is out.

Assuming there are no late comebacks from the likes of McLean or Murray, our outfield options from the bench will be Mooy, Hasselbaink and 4 untried youngsters.  Rather alarming when your two most experienced substitutes are 21.

But neither is a Left Back.  McShane needed a run of games and he clearly was not going to get it with us.  Haddad did not want to stay a

Barron played for a full season at left back and I think he'll get the nod to fill in while Tess is out. I hope this isn't the start of a bad run of injuries to key players as we're already pretty much stretched at the moment given that we now operate with a fairly small squad.

This news makes me laugh (but not in a humorous way) at the clatty Arabs calling him a cheat on Saturday when he went down, the fuggin' idiots.

Travner was a better overall player than Tess, maybe not as good defensively but much better going forward.  Tess has been solid without doing anything exceptional really since the Hibs game.

Says he was sent for a scan after picking up an injury in Saturday's game with Utd. Scan highlighted cartilage damage, requiring surgery. Lennon descibes it as a "tidy-up operation as he has had a problem with his cartilage"

Shame as he has been playing well in defensive role.
We miss 100% of the shots we do not take!

In your opinion!  Travner was certianly better going forward but i feel Tess is a more complete full back.  He is less prone to picking up silly bookings aswell.

I recall Travner getting two yellow cards in the first twenty minutes of a game against Accies last season, can't imagine Tess ever doing that.

Maybe he has been carrying a wee injury for some time or has been told not to go forward as much, whatever the reason at the start of the season he did seem a much more complete player.

Only because wee clueless doesn't like playing with 2 strikers!

With Thompson now injured and had we had a sensible manager who plays 2 up front then McShane would be in the side just now!
