Great news! Wonder what that equates to in terms of missing Scumgers fans next season....it might settle the debate.
Where are you getting that figure from?
15% of what amount?
If it's 15% of 100 then that's hardly "great news".
Also, those tickets have been bought and drastically reduced prices.
The only numbers that count are the total number of season ticket holders by the first day of the season and how much revenue they brought in.
Context is everything.
We're not all muppets on here you know. Some of us understand what "spin" is.

So the Gers botcott and dafte posts about our new signing are all bollox?
I indicated at the end of last season it would be interesting if our possession football and final league position would have a positive effect. Seems it has.
Just hope silent marjory (Copyright saint argyll) and Lex take the hint and learn to support St Mirren football club although making a cnut of themselves is rather amusing.

ST sales are up 15% from this time last year. What it doesn't mention is if the free kids tickets are included or if its a 15% rise in paying customers.

These 15% extra sales will have been to existing season ticket holders who would have bought season tickets anyway and who have taken advantage of the early bird discount.
In other words, we've taken less money this summer from these sales than we did last summer.

15% up in sales is meaningless. What matters is the actual revenue taken in.

Season ticket for w2 last year 250, season ticket this year 295 both on early bird so by my rough reckoning revenue should be up by around 45 pound a ticket not down.
What do you think?

Well here you go...
"St Mirren general manager Brian Caldwell said: “We are very pleased to report that there has been a welcome rise in our season ticket sales when compared to last season.
“As things stand, we are looking at a rise of as much as 15 per cent and that’s very healthy."
Either way you look at it, season ticket sales are up 15% on same time last year. I am a season ticket holder and I paid roughly GBP 30.00 more this year than last year, including bringing two free kids. Most other categories of tickets have gone up as well, so I am not sure what you mean by drastically reduced prices. Thats clearly not the case.
My point is, if we have 1500 season ticket holders (I found a guess of 1800 via Google but lets be conservative), an increase of 15% in sales at the same price I paid would mean potentially an extra GBP 66k in revenue, just in season ticket sales. We don't know for sure what group those buying people are in, but we do know its an extra 225 people if the trend continues, and if they each bring one free child thats an extra 450 people in the ground spending money on food etc...any way you look at it, its positive.
I'm not a financial analyst; I don't sit on the board so I don't know what the exact numbers are, but I can be positive about good news once in a while; you should try it some time...oh...and you can spin your head right up your arse as far as I'm concerned...

That said I agree with your post and the sentiments expressed. Well done.

Not so IMO. Even if it's the same revenue with more people through the gate it's a good thing. The more kids the better. It's how we all started.I once knew an engineer who expressed himself in such a way.

Can they claim they "sold" a free ticket?

What do you think?
Presumably those 9 extra people paid a higher price last season therefore the revenue from those 259 people will be down on last season.

Who cares?
Bums on seats, that's what it's all about.
When I was wee I got lifted over the turnstile, police don't let you do that these days but the club are bringing those days back with the free child season tickets.
Well done.

Well we know they had sold 1000 season tickets of last week as thats when the free kids shirts ran out, so not huge sales by any means, we extended the deadline obviously because sales were not going well.
Thanks Jeremiah.
