I think it's fair to say that most fans realise there will be a loss of revenue and the best detail I have seen which makes sense to me shows a maximum shortfall of £200,000 for next season.
Future seasons for me remain the unknown but I hope the powers that be can start talking up our game and build a vision for a sustainable league that never relies on one club again.

The dicatorial duopoly has been broken this is a brilliant day for St Mirren and indeed every single fan in Scotland. Agreed. It is a marvelous opportunity for us wee 'diddy teams.'.
Lets start with the old firm:
Rangers fans will enjoy visiting different grounds. In years to come they will be able to say they've completed the set of all 42 grounds.
Celtic fans will think Neil Lennon is the massiah, because he will lead them to 4/5/6 in a row.
For the rest of us: Change. No this is the chance for a change for good, for all. Fans want a bigger league and more variety, now we will have the opportunity for democracy. Every man and their dog wants a league of 16/18, a pyramid structure, playoffs etc.
Fans are no longer listening to "economic experts" like Jim Traynor and his skewed, illiterate propaganda. Traynor, economic expert, nice bit of sarcasm Bud Fans were belittled by Regan and red top journalists, when they ignored polls and pleas from the customers of Scottish football.
Expect a couple of years of financial realinement, followed by more chance for youth, lower prices for similar levels of quality Yes please - like a breath of fresh air
Well done to every chairman that listened to their fans, for once. Agreed.
Scottish football has a marvelous opportunity for change here. I hope those in charge grasp it by the roots and flower it.
Bye-bye OF.

Inverness are convening an emergency board meeting to consider the "serious financial implications" of Rangers newco going into Division Three.
The Ibrox club discovered their fate at a meeting of SFL clubs at Hampden today.
Twenty-nine of the 30 SFL clubs accepted Rangers as an associate member of the SFL while 25 clubs voted in favour of placing the newco team into the bottom tier, despite Scottish Football Association chief executive Stewart Regan claiming that decision would bring financial catastrophe and a "slow, lingering death" of the game.
Inverness chairman Kenny Cameron said: "There will now inevitably be serious consequences for the game in Scotland.
"We have all, as clubs, accepted the views of our stakeholders in making the initial judgement to uphold sporting integrity.
"All clubs will now have to live with the repercussions of this decision. Scottish football was at a crossroads today in terms of what was on the table for all clubs regarding reorganisation, financial distribution and a road map that would have taken the game forward.
"But this has now been thrown into disarray by this decision. This is a sad day for all clubs in Scotland."
A package of reforms were offered by the SFA, the Scottish Premier League and the SFL as a carrot for clubs to put Ally McCoist's side into the second tier.
The proposals would have seen the SPL increase to 14 teams for the beginning of season 2013/14, with a mechanism in place to add two more at a later date.
Changes to the size of the other leagues as well as the merging of the ruling bodies, the redistribution of monies, parachute payments, play-offs and a pyramid system are also on the agenda.
Cameron insists it was an opportunity missed.
He said: "None of us will escape the financial fallout from this.
"There was an opportunity on the table, in terms of the joint agreement tabled at today's meeting for us all to come together and a genuine willingness to improve the game substantially over the coming years.
"But it now looks as though this will once again be kicked back into the long grass.
"A once in a lifetime opportunity to bring forward change may well have been lost.
"The directors of ICTFC are fully aware of the financial implications of this latest decision on Newco.
"The loss of either our fans or our sponsors was never going to leave any of the clubs in Scotland in a healthy financial position and for some this could spell the end of football as we know it.
"Certain clubs in the SFL have perceived the financial information they were receiving as a 'big stick' to beat them into accepting Newco in the First Division.
"This was definitely not the case, as far as I am concerned. What they were being told was the reality of the situation."

Caley Thistle have called an EGM of its BoD over the weekend. Their chairmen's words would suggest that SPL chairmen knew exactly what was in the SFA / SPL document:

Is the ICT EGM in preparation for the SPL Board meeting on Monday. Is there yet another twist to come as SPL Chairmen wheel out the Company Act 2006 getaway car for the newco? Will the newco back into the SPL be tabled for a new vote as a result of the meeting on Monday that was supposed to decide who from the 1st would swap places with the newco?WHY is it a ''once in a lifetime'' opportunity for change?
Seriously?

I love watching the McGowans and the Thompsons, but if our short-term future - or even medium-term future - is without these kind of players, then so be it. Every single club is in the same position, so it will balance itself out to an extent across Scottish football.
Perhaps we'll see the gap between the lower reaches of Scottish football and the top flight close, which would be a fantastic thing. I have said this before and I'll say it again: it is the quality of the entertainment and the competition - not the quality of football - that the fans love.
In the long-term, a so-called financial crisis will possibly be the best thing to happen to Scottish football. Clubs will start cutting their cloth accordingly, and will learn not to rely on the presence of two clubs to be financially solvent.
It is about time football got back to exactly that: the game of football. I am delighted that the fans have made their voice heard to this effect. Now, those running our national game should be focusing all their energies on shaping our game into something the fans want to be a part of again; something to make the game more exciting but fair; something to get us excited again.
St Mirren might lose the McGowans and the Thompsons now, but in 10/20/30 years time, we might have developed our own players of their standard at a fraction of the cost. And maybe, just maybe, we'll start a season thinking we have a fair chance of winning the league that we're in.

Ok so the right decision was made today for sporting reasons with rangers going to division 3 anyone that doesnt agree with that is mental
Only time will tell if all the financial messages that were put about was infact scare tactics and just trying to force people into a decision they didnt want to make.
Will sky walk away completely ? will all of the major sponsors walk away?
For me no they won't walk away completely but will re negotiate the current deals would they really risk being boycotted by all non rangers fans in scotland by walking away completely a doubt it.
And last but not least surely the possibility of "diddy club fans" supporting each other and attending more away games on a regular basis will help close the financial gap
A suppose only time will tell but I am delighted to see that clubs were not willing to be bribed and back down to pressure from the men at the top of the game

As RAngers head for div 3 are we now likely to see the break up of our own team. I hear we're doomed now that they are not in sfl1. So in fact even tho were 3 leagues above were going to be much much worse off. The mcgowans and mcleans will need to be sold? Also with 40,000 gates rangers will be back in the spl before long but will we still be at the party?
No disrespect but I can't see Rangers or whatever they're called getting 40.000 through the door for at least two years. As we the St Mirren supporters (and that goes for all other teams in our position) that gave our thoughts to the BOD on what should happen to the NEWCO then we are partly responsible for the consequences. If St Mirren have a shortfall that that will impact on the level of players we have at the club then I for one will be prepared to increase my level of spending to the club. I have a season ticket but maybe only see 4 or 5 games per season, I signed up to the 10000 CIC, why? because St Mirren are my club. Bin your Sky subscriptions and give that cash to St Mirren (if Sky pull the plug) I know there are a lot of fans that couldn't afford additional expenditure, but I'm sure there's more that can. Just my thoughts. Tin hat going on noo and I'll await the incoming flak.

Wonder who the team who voted against Newco as associate members are?
Clyde? They were making noises about it prior to the vote.
edit Some folk reckon it was Stranraer.

Suddenly options previously deemed unworkable – such as the introduction of a 16-team top division that Doncaster last year said would lead to a £20m loss – are up for debate.
http://www.heraldsco...easons.18131406
Yet 12 months after Doncaster's £20M armageddon he was pushing the changes to save Scottish football from a £16M armageddon. I wouldn't believe Doncaster if he said St Mirren play in black and white stripes.

It is Doncaster's figures that are being presented to us by SMFC and 10000 Hours. Struggling to find credibility in anything coming from football authorities including our own club at the moment.http://www.heraldsco...easons.18131406
