Facts are

If Rangers hadn't been liquidated, we'd be bottom.

Zero progress in his 3 years.

Firmly back where Gus had us year in year out.

That semi final win against Celtic is making this pile of shite he is producing every week, seem a lot less odourous than it really is.

You need to look up "fact" in the dictionary.

Maybe the conjugation of "to be" after that.

If we'd have won (which we should have, based on the chances), then you'd be worried about Danny Lennon leaving because we'd be on the brink of the top 6 and in a national cup final, the league is incredibly tight and we'll fly up and down the table right until the end, deal with it.

We are St Mirren, we lose to shite teams.

ok he is not exactly fergie but he has got us a day in the sun at hampden

tonight he started his 2 best goal scorers on the bench.. we are not good enough to get away with that sort of squad rotation.

You have to look at the players. Lennon doesn't make McLean mince about, never put in a tackle or randomly knock the ball out the park. Likewise he doesn't will that we don't score the vast majority of our chances. That said, he does talk some amount of shite at times and almost cost us the Motherwell home match with some ludicrous tactical changes. I also get sick of hearing about surfaces not lending to our style of play...develop a f**king plan B!

the final is terrifying me a bit now. Both clubs season hinges on one game, hearts have a new manager and our fans are confident. Historically, I couldn't think of a worst combination unsure.png

The original poster has indeed made a very good point, a point that I have observed repeatedly in the Dundee vs St Mirren matchday thread.

Mr Daniel Lennon has been simply outclassed in the Scottish Premier League this season by the following teams

Ross County

Inverness Caley Thistle

Saint Johnstone

Kilmarnock

The list is not exhaustive by any means.  I do consider that we have s stronger playing squad than all those teams listed.  One must also ask why Kilmarnock, even with all the financial problems that they currently face can manage to outclass us every season in the league.

Opinion is entirely subjective, especially when it comes to such matters concerning the strength of the playing squad.

But my opinion is, and has has been for some time, that our current managerial encumbent has been left in the wake of his more capable peers.

If it were not for the euphoria caused by the forthcoming league cup final then the pressure on Mr Daniel Lennon would be huge.

As a paying customer of the Saint Mirren professioanal football club pte ltd co then I must say that I am unhappy with the performances of the first team playing squad in the league and I consider myself to be an unhappy customer.

I'm sure that if we had lost to penalties against Aberdeen and this happened tonight, 90% of posters would be calling for his head.

Nobody knows where we'd be in the league had Rangers still been in it, dozens of results would have been effected had the teams been different.

Sick of people panicking, let's look at facts for a second, before tonight we were in the 4th best form in the league going on the last six games, picking up 10 points that's despite failing to score in 3 of the games. Our problem, like every other team is inconsistency. The difference is, ourselves and Hearts have both had stinking runs at one point in the season that none of the other sides have had.

Had we picked up even 6 points from those 6 games at the tail end of last year instead of the zero we got (unluckily), then I guarantee you, we wouldn't be having this discussion as we'd still have been right in the mix.

Yes, tonight is disappointing and we really shouldn't be resting key players such as Thommo and Isma with so much still to play for, but why not give these guys a shout? They earned it with their win last week against Hearts.

Hmm - neither of the deputy centre forwards scored last week, and our goals came from a penalty and a 40 yard wonder strike.  Did they really deserve another shot?  I'm not quite so sure.

Think back to the semi-final and how fantastic it felt

we are St.Mirren....it happens and will happen again

now think forward to March the 17th

thats what St.Mirren are all about....highs and lows...its part and parcel of what we have done and what we will do

btw....replace the manager???????....... WHO THE f**k WITH?

Danny is still one of the emerging young managers out there....stick with him !!

Sorry Professor.

Perhaps you are on the wrong forum.

Maybe you were looking for the Oxford or Cambridge forum.

Don't know why I bother.

Only saying it like I feel and as far as I'm can see Mr Lennon ain't taking us forward.

Yes, it's great that we are in a cup final, but he's not improved us any in the 3 years.

If we weren't in the final, he would seriously be under pressure.

How can teams like Ross Cty and ICT be at the opposite end of the table from us?

Answer is, they have better managers.

define "not improved"....

4 years ago we could not string 2 passes together....under lennon we have VASTLY improved as a footballing team

tonight we should of been at least 3-nil up before half time and we were'nt.....was that the managers fault???

wayyyyy toooo much knee-jerk reaction ( as usual)

We ARE in the final and he IS under pressure.

He has clearly decided the cup win is the most important thing and has probably staked his career on us winning it.

That is his choice as manager.

I think he's made a mistake not killing off Dundee but if we had done so and Thommo and Teale had been injured he'd have been slaughtered for ruining our best cup chance in a generation for a "meaningless win".

Danny is being well paid to make those decisions.

The man is trying to win us our first cup since 1987 and to erase the memories of 2010.

At the end of the season we'll all know whether his gamble paid off or not.

If we finish 11th and scrape survival and lose the final I'll be the first on here with my thoughts.

In the meantime supporters need to support what he's trying to do for our team.

ICT got relegated with Butcher. And finished below us last season.

County are showing up everyone, not just us. Although the one team to benefit most from the Rangers demise, was County. As SPL teams had no head start on them due to the uncertainty.
