DannysRevolution Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 (edited) Was playing golf tonight with a director on the Morton board. He says this deal is being talked about between the clubs and that saints have offered 2 players in exchange (Imrie being the only named one) Ross County are also interested. He said there is a good chance of it happening though:) Edited May 22, 2013 by DannysRevolution Quote
stevenw05 Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 Any deal that shifts Imrie is a good 1 we hated him at Accies will be trebled now if he ends up there Quote
norrie82 Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 Imrie never got a chance really wish he was deployed up front to see if he had it Quote
Murray7 Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 I want to keep Imrie and get rid of Robertson instead. Quote

class of 76-77 Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 If Tidser has a year of his contract to run then Morton are in the driving seat as far as negotiations are concerned. There's no chance of us paying a fee imo so the stuff about 2 players offered in exchange sounds plausible. Imrie and Guy or Mair would be good experienced signings for Morton. Quote
saintnextlifetime Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 Robertson staying makes no sense Signing him made little sense, but. . Quote

exiledfan Posted May 21, 2013 Report Posted May 21, 2013 Doubt guy would drop down a division and be able to avoid being caught offside.. Fixed it for you Quote
DannysRevolution Posted May 21, 2013 Author Report Posted May 21, 2013 Also the rumour about him having a clause in his contract meaning he could leave for nothing because morton never got promoted is false Quote

Not if we're able to pay that. Quote
RossTheBoss Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 (edited) Can I suggest you edit your post to remove the information relating to an employee of SMFC's salary? Edited May 22, 2013 by RossTheBoss Quote
kevo_smfc Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 I agree. A bit unfair disclosing someones personal income publicly. Sent from my GT-I9305 using Black & White Army mobile app Quote
RickMcD Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 Can I suggest you edit your post to remove the information relating to an employee of SMFC's salary? I agree entirely. Apart from anything else, utter crap gets spoken about football players' wages. Quote
slapsalmon Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 No one had an issue when someone was banging on about McAuslands wage wether they believed it or not. Quote
RickMcD Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 No one had an issue when someone was banging on about McAuslands wage wether they believed it or not. That's fair comment but when it got mentioned I don't think anybody believed a word the OP had written anyway. Quote
kevo_smfc Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 Back on topic, I think that a swap deal involving imrie and tidser would be good business. Morton probably value Tidser higher in value to what we paid for Imrie. Two completely different players regarding positions, though Tidser seems like a creative midfielder who can chip in with a few goals. I know the same was said about Robertson prior to him arriving though Tidser has worked his way from Celtic youth to stint in Sweden followed by a move to Greenock whereas Robertson has been playing at a lower level most of his career. marrez Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 Signing him made little sense, but. . Disagree, he was second division player of the year, he was worth a punt but it hasnt really worked out. Quote
Ledley 1877 Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 I'd rather keep Imrie to be fair. Tidser hasn't really done much, and I know he's a young player, but we have wee McGinn and McLean who have done far more at a younger age. If we were to get him on a free or a swap deal with Robertson, then fair enough but not for Wee dougie! Can't actually see Guy or Mair dropping down a level either. Think they'll sit tight for a year! Mair said a while ago on his twitter that he was going nowhere (although he's been accepting and replying a host of farewell messages) and guy will take a year to get back from an offside position so he's going nowhere. At least not for any of the players under contract who have supposedly been told to find other clubs (Imrie, Mair, Guy and Adam). None of them are actually worth anything, and they would have to agree to the move probably at a lower wage. Quote
nedflanders123 Posted May 22, 2013 Report Posted May 22, 2013 If a player is told he has no future at the club he has two choices, rot away with no chance of playing or go to a club who will offer him a chance to play. If Imrie is indeed offered then I would assume he would choose to go and play albeit in the first division rather than being somewhere he is not wanted and no chance of pulling th boots on. There is one other alternative and that is to put him out on loan if no deal can be struck to have him permanently move on. Wow! Talk about killing two birds with one stone. Realistically we would have to sweeten the deal - a friend who is in the know at Ayr Utd. says that when we were trying to get rid of Dennis Wyness in January 2010 we were offering to pay 50% of his salary for the remainder of his contract. How would that work without sending the player on loan? He would be contracted to 2 clubs unless we paid the 50% up front? Edited May 22, 2013 by davidg Quote
