Sergie's no1 fan
Listening to Talksport and they are talking about the match between the 1987 FA cup winners Coventry v 1987 Scottish Cup winners St Mirren. They are wondering why the 2nd leg has never been played? Think they said the first leg finished 1-1 and the 2nd leg has never been played. Anyone with any info should phone the station up . Kemp
High time this was organised! In all seriousness, it might get a decent crowd if it gets promoted properly, it would be a fun story for the media to run with.
Charlotte Saint
I think it was to do with English clubs being banned from europe so they arranged to play us. IIRC it was 1-1 but 2nd leg was cancelled due to nobody turning up at the first game
Kemp
I thought the Anglo Scottish Cup used to be quite popular?
scrappy coco
St Mirren refused to play the return leg, apparently they complained that nobody would speak to them when we went to Coventry.....
Jimmy H
Went to Coventry for the 1-1 draw, that was a good day out
shull
Wisnae a bad attendance considering the time of year. http://stmirrenprogrammes.co.uk/StMirren/STM_Match_Details.php?Season=1987&GameID=2277
Dibbles old paperboy
Wisnae a bad attendance considering the time of year. http://stmirrenprogrammes.co.uk/StMirren/STM_Match_Details.php?Season=1987&GameID=2277 Oh for a St Mirren team with modern day equivalents for Campbell Money, Norrie McWhirter, Billy Davies, Ian Ferguson, Iain Cameron... or a bench with the quality of Tommy Wilson, Frank McGarvey, Kenny McDowall and George Shaw. Plus Paul Lambert and David Winnie didn't feature in that game but were part of that year's squad and Fitzy would still have been around as well.
