B&w Army Player Of The Year 2014-2015 Result

Recommended Posts

Almost 500 Saints fans took the time to vote in our online Eurovision style poll recently to determine the 13th winner of the annual Black & White Army Player of the Year Award, for season 2014-2015.

As the largest Saints unofficial website, our award is always coveted by the players. This season of course has been an incredibly disappointing one for everyone connected with the club, but one that we WILL recover from. The club will bounce back again, just like it has done many times before.

Anyway, to the vote itself and we are really pleased to announce that the winner of this years Player of the Year award for 2015 is none other than....................

Aaron Woodall

Aaron (circled in the photo) is one of our 2008 Junior Academy players who was diagnosed with a brain tumour late last year. Having successfully had his tumour removed this brave young man then underwent many weeks and months of really intensive Radiotherapy and is currently undergoing Chemotherapy as he continues to battle this disease.

Aarron's strength & courage has been an inspiration to all of us, and a timely reminder of things around us that are much more important than football.

We will be in touch with the club shortly to arrange to hand over our coveted trophy to this fine young man, who will also receive a framed St.Mirren shirt, signed by the League Cup winning team of 2013 as part of his award.

Congratulations Aaron and all the very best with your continued recovery.

Amazing work everyone. This is fantastic. cloud9.gif

Edit: Div, I know this isn't the point of the award, but I'd definitely PR this if I were you. Nice bit of PR for Saints fans generally, too. Not that you need any encouragement to get involved with the media usually. ;)

I hope this award gives Aaron a wee lift and helps him in his on-going fight. If he's well enough, giving him the award at half time in the Motherwell game might be a nice touch?

I've emailed the club who have been really good in communicating between myself and Aaron's family. Will wait see what is easiest for him as to how we present the award to him. Will keep everyone posted.

I'm genuinely moved reading this, and your post is beautifully put, Div (cheque in the post?).

Let's not dwell on why no first team player received this accolade, but why this young man so absolutely deserves it.

Bravo, St Mirren supporters, bravo Div, but most of all, bravo Aaron!

Great result. The kid is deserving of the award and I hope he can receive it in front of the fans at the 'Well game.

That cannot be a Daily Record story though Div. Surely their headline would be 'Old Firm managers run rule over Saints starlet Aaron'..... 'Ronny Delia set to swoop for Saints POTY Aaron'....

Seriously though, well done son, all the best.

A Newcastle fan, a complete stranger, just phoned me to say he has been totally inspired by the story and he thinks our fans are amazing.

Said he just felt he had to phone and say that!
