League cup winning hero Craig Samson being escorted out of Rugby Park....

And we need an experienced goalkeeper who can coach.....

HELLO.... MURRAY!

Get it sorted ASAP

Kilmarnock are trying to offload Craig Samson - by opening negotiations to end the Scotland squad goalkeeper's contract early after signing Jamie MacDonald from Falkirk. (The Sun, print edition)

I'd take him back. He didn't do a great deal wrong when with us, and was always a class act when he visited with Killie in terms of acknowledging the supporters etc.

Would I take him ahead of Langfield? Quite possibly.

Killie getting rid only because of his wages. Don't think a double wage of Player / Coach with us (if that's what we would offer) would come close to what he's getting but as my Grannie used to say "if you don't ask, you don't get".

What do you think is the hold up with Langfield

We aren't paying much wages any more

Worth it to Samson to build a reputation as a goal keeping coach, could be doing some outside work whilst addressing our need too!

The hold up with langfeild is the Aberdeen Europe situation. They only have 3 keepers. And while there on Europe there is no point risking offloading a keeper Incase of injury as obviously if they reach the group stage the £ benefits are huge.

Langfeild will happen

Hopefully Shankland signs too. We would be sorted going forward if we land him too

Hmmm... again. I have nothing against Samson, but we stand on the edge of a new era here with a fresh management duo, new signings, and a new challenge in a new division. Langfield's 'Clangers' moniker is a bit unfair IMHO. Aye, he's made errors - so has Joe Hart, big ones too. Aberdeen fans turned on him a bit because he was perceived to be wanting a move to an OF club? Ian Ferguson certainly did...

Langfield is an experienced keeper who has played at a high level. I'd be happy that our 'fresh start St Mirren' was another step down the road with the dapper Mr Murray & Rascal Gear Spalding at the helm and an experienced man between the sticks also coaching our younger keepers.

Would be a fresh start for Langfield too. No baggage with us or our support. Just my opinion.
