rabuddies
Killie getting rid only because of his wages. Don't think a double wage of Player / Coach with us (if that's what we would offer) would come close to what he's getting but as my Grannie used to say "if you don't ask, you don't get". Drew
I'd take him back. He didn't do a great deal wrong when with us, and was always a class act when he visited with Killie in terms of acknowledging the supporters etc. Would I take him ahead of Langfield? Quite possibly. pod
If and only if, negotiation's are at advance stage for Langfield, there's no chance with Samson.
DougJamie
Cant see it, Murray will have identified who he needs. Looking at our potential X1 I wonder how they would have got on against Saints of last season. If the lad does well upfront can see a good season. Worth it to Samson to build a reputation as a goal keeping coach, could be doing some outside work whilst addressing our need too!
billymehmet1
The hold up with langfeild is the Aberdeen Europe situation. They only have 3 keepers. And while there on Europe there is no point risking offloading a keeper Incase of injury as obviously if they reach the group stage the £ benefits are huge. Langfeild will happen

Yardley
Samson would be a great signing. He's easily the best keeper we've had since Campbell Money. Ridgers is dodgy, bring Samson back and forget about Clangers!!

Sergie's no1 fan
Samson done very well for us but he wasn't perfect. When you look back we conceded a lot of long range efforts when he was in goals. Langfield is a better keeper with more experience and fits the coach part too. Would be great if we got either though. pozbaird
Hmmm... again. I have nothing against Samson, but we stand on the edge of a new era here with a fresh management duo, new signings, and a new challenge in a new division. Langfield's 'Clangers' moniker is a bit unfair IMHO. Aye, he's made errors - so has Joe Hart, big ones too. Aberdeen fans turned on him a bit because he was perceived to be wanting a move to an OF club? Ian Ferguson certainly did... Langfield is an experienced keeper who has played at a high level. I'd be happy that our 'fresh start St Mirren' was another step down the road with the dapper Mr Murray & Rascal Gear Spalding at the helm and an experienced man between the sticks also coaching our younger keepers. Would be a fresh start for Langfield too. No baggage with us or our support. Just my opinion. Edited August 5, 2015 by pozbaird
