Blind optimism abounds on here.

If we are to challenge for the 4th spot we will have to improve 100% on recent performances.

Back-to-back home wins mean it simply isn't blind optimism any longer, it's actual optimism. We have something tangible to hold onto now.

If these back-to-back wins had been well deserved I could agree with you.

Both wins were well deserved. In both we were better than the opposition, and whilst not playing as well as we perhaps could, we won by two clear goals against Alloa and kept a clean sheet yesterday.

If you take these two games in isolation, then I could understand the accusation that people are getting ahead of themselves. However when you compare the Murray era to this new chapter under Rae, which has seen 4 league wins out of 6 and a significant improvement to performances and results, you can surely understand why fans are now cautiously optimistic about the season ahead?

It is only your opinion if the win was 'deserved'. Similarly, it is only my opinion that American football is a great sport, and rugby union is boring shite, a sport where the referee plays far too big a part in the actual on-field events. This proves nothing, it is merely my opinion.

The fact is - we just won two home games on the spin. Any optimism felt by the support now has two home wins to fuel it - it certainly is not simply blind optimism. You are simply wrong to suggest otherwise.

If you aren't feeling even a wee bit warm and fuzzy / optimistic... Fair do's. That's your call.

One shot on target from open play at home to Queen of the South is not sufficient cause for optimism.

Yes based on the last two home results there is some hope that AR and DF are starting to turn things around in that we are more solid at the back and more competitive in the midfield and that is something to be thankful for.

However what we do with the ball when in possession leaves a lot to be desired.

Mallan was definitely in possession of the ball before it hit the back of the net.

Believe Watson is suspended for this after his booking at the weekend. He will be a big loss, he's been excellent recently.

Hopefully Webster is fit after going off in the first half on Saturday and Sean will go to LB and Gary to RB. If he isn't fit we would only have 3 available defenders in Baird, Kelly and Irvine.

Irvine to rb. Baird and Kelly in the middle. Stewart at lb. Sorted!

There have been 36 league meetings between the two teams at Palmerston with Queens winning 14, Saints 12 and 10 draws.

It has actually been 8 league games since Queens scored against St Mirren, the last time was in a 2-2 draw in Paisley in November 2004 with Queens last victory against us coming in the previous month which was a 2-1 victory in Palmerston.

We don't normally have decent records like this against teams and I expect a home win now I have mentioned it tongue.png.
