Thought the boy Russell who came on for Dumbarton last night looked a very good player indeed. I see St.Johnstone are being linked with a £10k move for him since their deal for Ian Harty has been knocked back by the man himself.

Isn't it a great pity that talent like Russell can be snapped up for as little as £10k from right under our noses across the water.

This is where I feel SMiSA would be able to help, if with the majority of the trust we could effectively pay the transfer fee for bringing some decent young talent to the club - a bit like the supporters club did with Jackie Copeland back in '77.

If we had a more vibrant trust we could even be suggesting paying the transfer bounty for Harty to be considered as a target

Wasting money on signing players like this is one of the reasons I haven't joined SMiSA.

That and the fact that I'm a tight b@stard. :D

The boy Russell that came on showed a bit more promise that any of players we had on show up front.

It said Saints season tickets sales were about 930 or so and I was wondering how this compares to others, such as Ross County, Falkirk and St Johnstone. It's a sad day when a club like St Johnstone are beating us to the signature of Michael Moore and possibly even Ian Harty. I guess charging each punter an extra £3 a game does help.

The irony is that you WOULD already be a SMiSA member if some baldy f*kwit hadn't mislaid your membership form

When is Cap jnr II making his/her appearance into the world ?

Clearly the blame lies fairly and squarely at the gates of Paisley Grammar

It's perplexing that St J suddenly have all this cash to splash about. Yes, they charge more at the gate and for season tickets but they also have high earners at the club which I'm sure would eat into that. It's only a year or two since their chairman was making noises about having to go part time if there wasn't a quick return to the SPL.

Living in Perth I hear snippets of info......

The sponsorship with Stagecoach is quite a lucrative one and this has helped, however one of the main reasons they can afford these transfers is that they no longer have any big earners on the wage bill..........the 3 big earners they had left were Mixu, Reilly and Donnelly and they have managed to get rid of all 3.

Also they sell out corporate hospitality most weekends and it is £1k for a table of 10, so it all helps.

They are still however Sheep-Shagging Tractor Driving Fckwits !!!!!!!!!!

St Johnstone also got rid of that wee sh**e Parker to Blackpool during the summer and it was rumoured he was still picking up SPL wages. They also got rid of Vata and maybe even Bernard which must also free up some money. I can see them being a decent shout for the league when John Connelly gets them sorted out.

It's just a shame that we can't get enough cash together to muster a good squad for a serious challenge for the title. I know in the past that saints supporters paid for Jackie Copland but I am not sure what the current membership of SMISA would feel about financing a deal for say Ian Harty.

Yeah Div, and the supporters club is now being bailed out by the saints cause of mismanagement.

Has anyone any idea how much St Mirren had to stump up to pay off Hendrie and even more recently for Coughlin?

I know the current management team are only under contract until the end of this season so at least if it does go belly up this season we can at least make a fresh start with a new management team and not have to break the bank to do so.

A few guys were joking on the way out last night, saying when will Millen get the managers job or will we bypass him and go straight for big Mixu. Sadly that's the thinking in the stands in the last few seasons.

And £20 a go for a cardboard "fan" across from the Main Stand
I'd rather shag a bucket with a big hole in it,than be a M*rt*n fan for just one minute.

Why not go for Russell Harty? About the same footballing skill as Andy Millen, even though he is a mincing chat show host who's been dead twenty years.

We made £128,000 from the Scottish Cup tie against Celtic a few seasons ago. Shortly after this game we settled out of court with Hendrie. Draw you own conclusions from that!!!

You've got enough towels there though, Kevo, to make a sort of papier mache towel-man defender

In fact, fck me, you've got enough to do a whole team!

Stay with me here - they would "soak up" the pressure, etc. What do you guys think?

Cheap too - no cash required, just a bottle of Lenor fabric softener each month and a goal bonus of 5 sheets of Bounce.

More personality than Andy Millen too, and slightly more pace than Mixu Paatelinen. Ta da!

If that's a serious wonder, then Falkirk have sold well over 2000. The rumour, repeat, rumour, is this season has seen the biggest take-up of season tickets ever :)

Hardly surprising. Even if you've only got one stand, the new ground would always provoke enthusiasm. Also, the SPL's relaxing of entry rules obviously gives teams like Falkirk a chance of getting up.

If your rumour is true, it just proves how badly the SPL has been strangling the life out of Scottish football for so long.
