I'm just back home after 4 months subbie work in the above London Borough. I am a tolerant, open minded individual but that place is shirt-lift city. I was in Brighton last year and the queers(that's their term) were in abundance and obvious, but in Croydon they let you know and behave worse than a pack of mill lassies. I was told that in the 'pink press', there are adverts actively inviting 'like minded' persons to go there and be set up with houses and jobs to help establish a pink town. I wont be back, even though my boss has said we've another couple of months work in the near future.

Strange that you should mention Croydon. A lot of f'k'rk and gr'n'k rent boys have moved down there as the pickings are rich for chutney ferrets prepared to indulge the more outrageous predilections of South London fat cats. It is certainly not the type of place that you would find a self-respecting Bud. (other than Bill Lees at the weekends of course :P )

And - relatively speaking - chingford is as far from Croydon as Renfrew is... :P
