Football First have revealed that the trialist who was playing in the reserve game is striker Stewart Boyd from Glenafton. We're having another look at him this week apparently.

Apparently he is very good at junior level but I've played five a sides with him a few times and he didn't stand out. I think we should be setting our sights higher than that.

If Gus thinks he's good enough and we sign him, then he's good enough :D

QOS took Bowey from non-league football too.

Jinty hasn't been a bad signing either, we could have made a few bob on him last summer I believe :o

Just think, if we'd sold McGinty we could have had Kean at the end of August <_< :(

And that would have had the double effect of both improving our results (Kean in the side instead of McGinty) - plus harming Falkirk's results as they would have scored far less with McGinty in their side.................. :(

Nothing wrong with getting players from the lower ranks. Apart from McGinty, we've done quite well out of the juniors and juveniles in the past, eg Kevin McGowne, Lex Richardson, Frank McGarvey, Billy Stark.............

Tom Brown played in the juniors until he was about 26. That's where he learnt his tackling technique.

I believe that McGinty is the type of player that would harm us if he was to play against us for the opposition, and score more goals.

Peter Weir, Mark Fulton, Frank McAvennie. Unfortunately the standard is way below that these days.
