    Cheers!

Posted elsewhere some of this on last weekend's match thread but just a quick one here... Thanks for kind posts/good messages throughout the season for the St Mirren TV/Radio coverage. The producer of SMTV/Radio isn't on this forum but knows of your kind thoughts! Not been a vintage campaign but been an enjoyable experience personally and I've commentated on 27 games across both platforms this campaign, doing almost every game in the first part of the season and good chunk of the 2nd half of the season - with couple of the other guys doing some stuff also throughout the season - gaining experience. As it is a UWS project - I'm graduating from my honours year this summer so means Dumbarton was my final game last weekend in terms of commentary with this Sunday's game clashing partially Women's football work (although if you need a second team - Glasgow City play good stuff btw! ) Seriously, though looking ahead I gather the SMTV/Radio partnership will continue next season though - with a mix of students still there and newbies coming in. However don't take it gospelly yet. I'm sure that will be finalised at some point hopefully. Anyway just a thanks again. Although the game clashes on Sunday, still around pre-game presenting the St Mirren show at half 11, which I am looking forward to - wanted to do it at some point this season! Better late than never. After this season St Mirren might have a small lean in my heart now behind my local team... Rangers... Nope not that Rangers... but Berwick Rangers that is. I'm sure i'll still pop in now and again! This "point scoring" about tunnels, etc is really quite sickening. There were several factors that contributed to this disaster, both human and design. The real disgusting issue, for me, is what happened after. The quite unbelievable attempts to cover issues up, when in the circumstances lots of people made errors, probably quite understandable. What possessed The Sun to print headlines that at worse, poured oil on an already volatile situation. The time to get to the decision given a few days ago is shocking and will forever be a dark event for this country. A tragedy that has, somehow, been made worse by the actions of many, many people, that's a real tragedy.

Victor was easily the most technically gifted player I've ever seen in the stripes. He played well in a poor team and if the rest of them knew how to play the game like he did we would gave been unbeatable. He was also incredibly fit and couldn't believe how little Scottish players worked on their game. Remember, the real reason he came to us was to improve his English for his job as a world cup ambassador.

    Hillsborough - A Suggestion

What their fans do is irrelevant Would be a nice touch to show our respect to Liverpool by playing their anthem. I'm guessing a few clubs will pay tribute this weekend, we're a good club and we should be one of them

    Thommo Farewell Interview

I had no intention whatsoever of attending the game. I probably won't go, but the thought of not showing my appreciation for his (and Goodwin's) contribution to the club has made me waver. If I go I think I might get a tad emotional when Sir Thommo waves goodbye.

in the short term there are handouts explaining everything including how to get in touch without internet access in all the food outlets, in the club shop and in main reception should you miss anyone handing them out we have more available so if anyone is aware of several people not getting info please ask for several at any of the above and feel free to distribute to others, such as those you mention we will continue to keep the shop or reception supplied after sunday and through the close season hopefully will be out on sunday with more handouts so please don't hesitate to ask for several if you are in a position to distribute further thanks

Love the jibes about his weight. Lavety & Yardley were hardly a good advert for Weight Watchers, yet both led the line in the best and most enjoyable league season I've ever experienced.

As the media starts to smell blood I have a worrying suspicion that what began as a noble quest for truth and justice will disintegrate into an unseemly clamour for revenge and retribution which will ultimately not serve to pay tribute to those who were tragically killed.

    Hillsborough Disaster Verdict

The police chiefs were lying to those who they could influence about the disaster as it was taking place right in front of them while some people were actually still fighting for their lives. IIRC FA Chief Kelly and the BBC were told around 330pm that the gates had been forced. The Sun was fed similar information and did their typical brash reporting around these lies. It has always been a disgusting excuse for journalism and every football supporter should boycot it regardless of what offers of free TOFFS fitba shirts they may advertise. Instead of lying to cover their own arses the police chiefs should have been declaring a major incident and leading their officers in trying to help more people. IIRC there were around 41 people who with the right assistance and medical help could possibly have been saved. How could Duckenfield lie for so many years about what actually happened and not face criminal conviction? How could so many police witness statements be doctored to suit the police chiefs agenda and those responsible not face criminal prosecution? Those families have gone through hell for so long. They will never forget and I reckon most will never forgive the police and emergency services for what happened that day and in the immediate aftermath when so many innocent lives were lost. The lies and cover up which lasted for decades and involved so many has got to be one of the most shameful episodes in recent memory.

    Guard Of Honour

Not arsed if we do or we don't. Celtic gave us a guard of honour after we won the League Cup which I thought was pretty decent of them at the time and totally un-necessary. In sport you should always respect your opponent and treat them as you would want to be treated yourself. If the players want to acknowledge their fellow professionals in this way then personally I couldn't care less. I'm sure it's not the Rangers players any of us have a problem with.

    Hillsborough Disaster Verdict

Dickson is the Donald Trump of Lanarkshire. He makes up anything old shite to support his pish when usually a little investigation disproves his 'evidence'. Why anyone on this site takes him seriously or even interacts with him is beyond me. Lies and deceit abound which I usually ignore as life is too short to get involved with his egotistical ramblings but in this case he has gone beyond the bounds of decency. If everyone ignores him hopefully he will go away.

Thanks, I got the message and also an e-mail which I'll reply to tonight. Like a lot of people job security isn't something I can take for granted just now so I'd like to know that whatever happens I'd have at least paid the minimum amount to support this bid. I'm also considering adding more to the up front payment and one or two other things which I can currently afford so I'll reply to the e-mail after I get home from work.

I only use one Alias presently. We may find it out in the future that he is a mischief making troll but until then he and all others seeking information on this very important subject, must be given respect. Or others looking in will be driven away. So simple.

I spoke to a Saints fan last night and asked him if he had signed up. He didn't know anything at all about it. He does now and he told me he'd sign up when he got home last night. I guess when you spend a lot of your time online you forget that there are hundreds, or thousands of fellow Saints fans who don't.

    Thommo Farewell Interview

Heading along on Sunday to what should be an emotional farewell for a true legend of our great club. Like many others have said it could be an emotional afternoon for Sir Thommohawk and Goodwin. I am sure the fans will be in good voice on Saturday and give them the send off they deserve.

I remember watch st Mirren against Celtic and Viktor had Mcstay in his pocket for the full match. Then he got bored in the second half and ended kicking him all over the place Mcstay spent more time complaining to the ref the he did trying to play.

Just a wee correction to that. Your account (though not bank account) for payment and Direct debit guarantee is with GC and not with SMISA, but this is a good thing, you pay GC and they pay SMISA, but GC guarantee your money. ...again this is a good thing
  36. 2 points
No, becoming a member of SMISA does not make you a shareholder in the Club or give you the right to attend the AGM of the CLUB. You become a Shareholder (1 share) of SMISA and get to attend their AGM, which as they will own a load of shares and should therefore position their AGM immediately before the CLUB AGM you will be able to influence via the rules of SMISA how the SMISA owned shares will be voted on at the CLUB agm. Their shares will be voted on a block basis. EG. if a vote of SMISA members on a certain issue is a 60;40 split of something that will occur at the Club AGM. then 100% of the SMISA votes will vote for whatever the 60% won the vote on at the SMISA agm, not a 60/40 split...if you follow

    Guard Of Honour

I've seen you post a few times in the last few days along these lines and feel compelled to pick you up on this revisionist nonsense you're spouting. Gilmour and the BoD did run with this line but contrary to the line of history you wish to peddle, it WASNT met by universal acceptance by St. Mirren fans. It was met with dissension and debate by many which in turn was met by a scoffing 'we know better' attitude by the members of the board who we're sitting in the main stand that night spouting a load of shite. I said on here at the time it was shite, I maintain it was shite and I sure as f**k wasn't alone in that viewpoint. The very fact is that when it came to the crunch, despite their opposition, the board decided to accept the majority of the fans opinions and vote to exclude Rangers from the SPL. For me it was definitely passing the buck to the SFL by the SPL as a whole and not St. Mirren FC in particular. At that point in time there was no single governing body. By the time the SPL voted them out, the decision on their future was completely out of our hands. To implicate St. Mirren and their fans as the reason Rangers are still in existence is convoluted to be polite and an absolute load of slavering bullshit to be blunt.
