Great result if not our best performance in recent weeks. Mallan MOM for free kick and his hard graft him and McGinn put in. We gave them to much room in midfield. Big shout for Gary McKenzie superb again. Hope Harry Davis injury is not to bad. real good player for us since he came to the club. The great escape is on. Well done to Jack and James.

Great result Last 20 minutes were horrendous mind you. Thought Mallan was outstanding, ran himself into the ground chasing everything down plus a moment of quality with the goal. To give him his due, Irvine has turned his form around, would like to see him for the first goal again but his performances have improved 100% since he came back in at right back

At the stadium at 6.15pm where I was the only one at the ticket office. 4 final tickets please. Answer we closed final tickets 6pm. Explained where I live came to the stadium early to purchase tickets. No you can't buy them stop selling at 6pm with no budging. Went to the main stand reception and asked for Tony unfortunately he was with Jack Ross. So back to the drawing board. Understandi if there is a big crowd at the ticket office. I was the only one. Disappointed.

Delighted with the score and the team spirit. They fought for everything. I thought Loy was very good as was McKenzie. I have been very negative about Gary Irvine in the past, however feel he has been good in the last couple of games. I like Eckersley but feel he is prone to lapses in concentration and gives the ball away a bit too easily. I really liked the third goal. Not only because it was the winner but I liked how it was created. Cammy Smith fought really hard to get his cross in and really should have been slotted by one of our two strikers but the bit that I really enjoyed was that Morgan was following it up. So often we've seen balls into one (sometimes none) player who can't connect and there was noone following it in but tonight it could have been any one of the three players in the box that scored. Delighted with the score but it makes me really disappointed about last week's result. However great to see the team bounce back. On to Saturday.!! COYS!!! KTF!!!

    Q&A Night with Jack Ross?

Jack Ross will be here next season whether we are in League 1 or the Championship. That is, if a bigger club doesn't come in for him. The team Alex Rae put together played the worst football I have seen from St Mirren in my all years of watching the club, I think most fans understand the size of the task Ross had and are fully behind him. Don't much care of a Q&A right now mind you, he should be spending every single second on match preparation!

    Q&A Night with Jack Ross?

Just wondered if there were any plans afoot to have a wee Q&A Night with Jack Ross and Co? Would be good to continue with bond that is forming between the management team, players and fans (that should maybe read 'some fans'). A chance to build on this 'we are in it together' attitude, which hasn't been present at the club for a couple of years. Possibly the week before the Dumbarton game and they could bring along the cup (if we win it). It has taken Jack Ross longer than I had hoped but I think something is slowly building at the club. If we keep picking up results and can catch Ayr in the next 3 or 4 games then it could be a memorable end to the season with some big games and much bigger than normal gates at St Mirren Park. COYS!

What a fantastic exciting game of football. Nearly hoarse shouting the team over the line. Big well done to the fans they were the extra man tonight and got the team over the line. However the biggest well done goes to Jack Ross and his match management, great subs at important times in the second half. What a complete transformation in the team since January. I see TC is in denial and has branded Hibs and Dundee Utd as poor. Well done Saints what a fantastic match loved it.

Well played today. Thought Ross got his starting 11 and his subs spot on. Great determination to hang in there as well when they were running on fumes for the last 20 mins. Special mention to the two fullbacks who were excellent. Going to take some effort against Qos on Saturday now. Some of the team looked dead on their feet. Think we will see some changes. Magennis, Stelios and possibly Fjelde and Storie to start.

There is real bond building between players/management and the fans ....... you could feel it tonight and the superb backing from the fans helped get the team over the line tonight. Pre January we would have thrown that game away. Onto Dumfries on Saturday ........ let's get there if you can and cheer this team on. #Believe !!

Superb effort from all tonight. What a difference when we give 90 minutes of hard graft. Players are really up for this. Forget the playoffs, we need to aim as high as possible. More of the same on Saturday to put real pressure on the teams above COYS !

The last ten minutes? I hardly breathed for most of the second half. Great effort but boy do we like to do it the hard way. Crowd helped pull them through in the end. McGinn? missing from six yards had my heart in my mouth and I thought, "Here we go again", but I suppose this is a different Saint Mirren we're witnessing. Davis likely to be out for the rest of the season is a hammer blow. I thought Baird did OK but my worry is McKenzie being injury prone. Still, maybe it's time for Fjelde to shine. I would imagine he'd be ahead of Webster. Watch yer back Ayr. We're RIGHT behind you now!

Great result. The players showed tremendous desire tonight to see that out. Mallan - dynamite. Smith - total revelation since he arrived. We need to enjoy him while we have him as he oozes class. Sutton - workrate phenomenal. Eckersley - consistently good, great find. McKenzie - dominant. Not to forget Baird and Magennis - couldn't have been the easiest game to come into but thought both did well (Kyle was superb). Nice to feel positive!

FT 3-2 Woof, superb 3 points. Made it harder for ourselves than we should have done in the end, but that's ok. United were poor and we were well worth the win. Great to see Mallan and Morgan follow up their u21 call ups with a goal a piece tonight. Top youngsters the both of them. Hope we see our other scorer Harry Davies in the stripes again, that looked a bad injury though. Fantastic chance to finally get off the bottom on Saturday. Better Ayr's result at the weekend and we will be 9th.

Our third Wednesday game in a row, and our fifth game in fourteen days. Pesky cup runs. Hopefully we get more of the team who beat Hibs 2-0 a fortnight ago and less of the team who lost to Raith Rovers 2-0 a week ago. Could really do with avoiding defeat, even a point here would mean we could go above Ayr on Saturday. Would much rather we won tonight than won that daft cup final next week, That Challenge Cup has been a right pain in the arse all season.

Hard fought victory which we made it hard for ourselves Lost the midfield in the second half and sat too deep The goalie was a bag of nerves and was glued to his line Can't fault effort but need to keep the ball better when under pressure We were just hitting it anywhere the last 20 apart MaGennis who when had the ball didn't panic I hope Davis injury isn't as bad as reported

Disagree, I thought that was a fantastic team performance. There was not a passenger among them tonight. McGinn really is a cut above. Man of the match in my book, didn't put a foot wrong and did all the grafting. Points for improvement, Billy the fish needs to get his confidence back. Flapped at two crosses which didn't directly lead to the two goals but Utd kept pressure on and scored with next opportunity twice. Comedy moment - Stelios getting man of the match on the big screen, presumably for his immaculate hairdo... Worst bit - injury to Davis, but when the opportunity came Baird didn't put a foot wrong and linked well with McKenzie. Best bits - 3 goals (fantastic Mallan free kick), another win, another win at home and the commitment all over the park... Full backs deserve a special mention for being on top of their wingers and giving them no time on the ball at all. The commitment shown tonight needs to be the standard for every game. If it is we'll get there, if it's not it's going to be a long road yet...

From the Evening Old Firm .... Jack Ross wants to repay the St Mirren supporters for their incredible loyalty by putting Dundee United to the sword tonight before going on to achieve Championship safety. Over 4000 Saints fans turned out for the goalless draw against Dunfermline on Saturday, and Ross expects another noisy support to turn out at the Paisley 2021 Stadium this evening. The Buddies gaffer says that the value of such a vociferous backing shouldn’t be underestimated, and he hopes that the football they are now seeing is worthy of it. “The fanbase has been terrific, and terrifically loyal,” Ross said. “I think they recognise that there has been a change on the park, and there is now a team there that is a bit more reflective of their passion from the stands. “I think that as long as you have that then you increase the bond between the players, the staff and the supporters, and I feel that there may have been a bit of a disconnect between us on the playing side and the supporters and I don’t think that is right for a club of our stature. “It’s about building that again and my responsibility is to build that ultimately by winning games, but as long as we are making progress then they will continue to back us and that’s been seen. “It’s massively important for us and it helps us hugely both home and away. They’ve been incredibly loyal through this period and hopefully we can reward them for that. “I think we are a stronger team from the last time we played United, and that bodes well. “They are also coming off the disappointment of Friday night and with other results they have dropped further in the table. “I feel as if we are at our best when we play the bigger teams and the game becomes more open, so I’d expect it to be the same and I think with the quality players we have they will relish this chance to test themselves. “I think it will be an entertaining game and hopefully one we can go on and win.” The close links being fostered at the club don’t end between the stands and the pitch, but extend into the dressing room, with the players themselves becoming a tight-knit unit of late. Ross revealed that uniting the players in their common cause has been one of his main aims since taking the reins in Paisley. He said: “A close team spirit is exactly what we are trying to build here, and the players we brought in were brought here with that dual purpose in mind; to put a better team on the park but also to create a better feel around the club. “It helped that I was able to bring in players that I knew and trusted like Stephen McGinn and Adam Eckersley, players I had worked with before and then Cammy Smith for example from someone like Derek McInnes who I know and trust. “There are some you get a bit more fortunate with like Stelios, Billy O’Brien and Harry Davis who are good characters as well, so it’s been a bit of accident and a bit of design. “They have all come together really well though, and there is a real united purpose in what they are trying to do. “I think that has been shown, and though we would have still liked to have won more games, our recent form has in the main been very good and results have been better as well.

Great 3 points but what a nerve-wracking second half. Downside was Harry's injury - heard he will be out for the rest of the season which is a huge blow. And it was all because he overstretched trying to make amends for a poor pass in the middle of the park in a nowhere area with no danger. But the will to win was there from everyone in the team I just wish they hadn't sat so far back but the Great Escape is back on PS Special mention to Irvine. I was not impressed with him at all under Rae but he is a different player when he has been playing at right back (but he should have scored tonight!).

Agree 100% We, along with many teams, don't/won't reach any sort of cup final very often and many fans, especially youngsters will just see it as a cup final and a day to be enjoyed. It could easily ignite an interest in some "fans", especially children who will continue to attend. In saying that I'll be in Tenerife, watching in Buddies Bar, apologies for not being there.

    Q&A Night with Jack Ross?

Its a point Norrie, however as well documented the club with so many wrong calls, we cant just surely do this again....... I think personally Jack has been a breath of fresh air, however he still is very new to this game, but he is honest...... We need to be honest also, we did not have the infrastructure, recruitment or BOD to play at the top table, and the fall out impacted the whole club.... SG brought us financial success however he then oversaw shocking appts This for me is a total rebuild...... Alloa had no right to be in Championship, obviously we do, but we must support now I really do believe JR is a great acquisition for our club

    Q&A Night with Jack Ross?

How will things be viewed if we don't pull this off. A manager appointed in October with 28 games left failing to keep us up and therefore overseeing two relegations in successive seasons. Personally I think we will survive via the playoff but just saying.
