StanleySaint reacted to faraway saint in Telly Programmes
Was tempted but, as Sunday night is a bit poor we've saved it.

Looking forward to the 4th episode of Trigger Point tonight.
Gripping stuff so far, a real upgrade from the first series IMO.

Slight change of plan, only got as far as Carnoustie as a mate and his wife were down there so we spent an hour with them in the van.
After they left we walked along the beach for almost an hour, stunning day albeit as wee bit breezy.
Had a bite to eat, roll and bacon & egg, cup of tea and then attempted to build the bed.
It didn't go well, although I'm more in favour of using the bed above the drivers area, Mrs Faraway not so much.
Anyhow, another day, learnt a few more things.

Well I've had a long wheelbase transit on it before but as you'll know from the weather thread it's always raining, as it is now!

8.3 metres long.
PIssing down here as well but forecast is to be decent tomorrow and reasonably mild although St Andrews is almost always breezy when we go over there.

Well tomorrow is looking like St Andrews.
The first weekend away will be a test, sure as fate we'll forget something but, as I said, every trip is a learning process.
This years all about finding our feet, next year we'll stretch our wings, more so as I'll have retired and we can go anytime we want.
What size is your driveway?

Sounds like you're just about set for a bit of an adventure soon.

Well, had the van hooked up to a charger since just before lunch time and nipped out about 4 as the rain came on quite heavy and, hey presto, she roared into life.
That's good, all being well we'll head down to Monifieth tomorrow with the dogs, have a bite to eat, take the dogs a walk and see if the Firestick works from Mrs Faraways phone.
Every wee trip is another step in the learning process.
The company we bought it from are coming to pick it up on Thursday to remove the old cooker and reinstall a new one.

Good to see effectively first choice side, hope we've not taken a risk on those that were supposedly injured.

Thing is, I love the books but they are using him as a bit less of a loner in the series looking forward to Season 3, recurring characters are not really part of the books but I guess they feel it necessary to allow viewers to engage.

After taking some advice this is not an uncommon issue, lack of use, cold dam weather, can lead to battery issues so we bought a neat wee jump charger pack today.
Give it a whirl tomorrow and, fingers crossed, it breaths life into the van and we can get a wee trip, probably Montrose, on Sunday.
Last post in this section, it's not a healthy place to be.

Nice drive in this morning and good laugh with the team in person.

Pissing down although at least I'll not need to scrape the windscreen today.
More OT but I think I'll give it a miss next week, knackered.

Us long standing fans seem to forget this could be as good as it gets....we have finished 3rd once in my 50 years supporting. We have won 1 SC and first time winners of LC....for the 3rd season in a row we are not in any danger and pushing for Europe....crowds are up we have a great manager and 7 international players to call on... bloody hell this is good. . Anyone remember us being 10 points adrift of 9th in Championship a mere 8 years ago... in that time Hearts and united have been relegated
Happy days.... so enjoy please

StanleySaint reacted to faraway saint in Sin Bin Weather Thread
Yesterday the "look out the window" was more accurate than my weather app as it was freezing and the windscreen required considerable effort to bloody clear it.
It was only 1 deg when I left, although starting an hour early, and again today, it is a tad colder than a later start.
Hope today is a better day than yesterday, had an aching ankle and sore back for most of yesterday, seems to have eased a bit today although a tramadol last night might be why.

Meant to say, had another short trip planned yesterday down to the seafront with another of the granddaughters so, after getting a few necessities loaded up we were about to set off when the damn thing wouldn't start, battery was almost deid.
Opened up the engine, son in law came round with jump leads but one of the terminals was impossible to get the jump lead attached so the trip was cancelled.
It had only been sitting for a couple of weeks so it could just be that it needed turned over although I'm more of a believer that once a battery starts to play up I'd be better replacing it.
Currently looking for a local mechanic to give us a price.

I concur, hubris sets in and they become completely obsessed with self preservation. That’s why we have democratic elections every four years.
