East Lothian Saint got a reaction from BigYardsAndBasher in Our Golden Era 1977-1987
I remember as a fully qualified member of the Northbank  heading down to boundary park with a squad of buds for the Oldham Semi Final in 1978. We got feck knows how many trains and once we left Scotland everyone thought we were Chorley fans. After the game, at one of the railways stations, we got caught in the middle of a Barney between opposing sets of English fans. Bury were playing Walsall and feck knows who they thought we were but we had to hide in a station waiting room and barricade the door until the transport Police rescued us.  All part of the scene for a 70's football fan. I think we slept that night in Preston Station before heading back next day. 1-1 at Oldham wasn't a bad result though. Billy Stark scored again at Love Street but sadly that wasn't enough.  Fun Times

Find it hilarious that some on here ... dont want probably the most successful club captain in the history of Scottish football... sure he can be a dick but so were many that went on to be successful...Brown could have stayed at Celtic for life but chose a harder path....i would welcome him...his contacts and his knowledge any day over Ross McInnes or the likes....bring it on...as the guy only knows 100%...

Would be an aye for me. Why not. Has played the game at the top level , club and international.
    I don't get the backlash.

Already well on the way. Bus was delayed and diverted because of the bridge restrictions.

On the positive side we don't have to worry about the delay reducing pre match drinking time.
Quite a few of us on the same boat. Could end up  a messy day🤣

Was planning to go to this tickets permitting. However, the no trains thing is a right royal pain in the rectum. I could drive, but where’s the fun in that? 😩

I think anyone who has written, or spoken in a derogatory way about any team's supporters have a bloody cheek to denounce remarks made in a stupid tweet. No matter how you play it, the "H" word, (not Hamm......), isn't  bigoted. The term was and is commonly used to describe the then rangers, now newco fans.
Yes. JN will probably fall on his sword but lets not kid ourselves. This has been manufactured by a self obsessed, overbearing, bunch of fan(nies) whose bigotry is renowned.
As for the powers that be.
IF they are keen to investigate one Saint Mirren fan's comments then, for Christ's sake, be open and even and investigate the real bigotry that oozes out of the two @rsecheeks fan pages, not to mention the sh!te we have been subjected to on the terraces when they come a calling.

Cammy gave 100%. Promising player who scored some great goals. But..The manager picks his players. He stands or falls on the results he gets. Last years weren’t bad! Good luck to Cammy and good luck to our new midfielder.

I agree that we were not great today. But everyone should try to remember that we have lost to Celtic (1st or 2nd) and Hearts (top 4 finish, IMHO). As @faraway saint rightly stated, St. Johnstone are a good side who won both cups last season, and drew with Galatasaray in Istanbul, for heaven's sake!
I thought the booing today was awful...a bit like the queues to get in. Speaking of which, I saw a big bearded lad remonstrate with the SLO outside the turnstiles of the West stand. It was clear there was some technical issue that prevented him from entering, and he was extremely frustrated and stated that he had been a season ticket holder for twenty years - the SLO wouldn't take his word for it and he was refused entry. What is happening to our club? The boy should have been given the benefit of the doubt. Better to give one chancer entry once, given the circumstances, than to treat a loyal fan like that.

Its def a huge step back and total lack of a plan in every dept.... Main Brophy doesnt work.... two wee guys with no clear understanding and a flooded midfield we usually bypass.... 3 reds in 4 games is also a sign things are not well... we need pace or the only thing we will be speeding towards is the Championship

How he managed to say that we're now acting like top 6 club off the pitch, keeping a straight face, is laughable. No season tickets yet, nae away fans when full houses elsewhere, kiosks still closed, shocking quality jerseys when eventually available, no online shop all summer, shoddy communication to the fans. Aye ,Tony, definitely top 6

As we were leaving the ground yesterday the Social club was filling with locals heading to a bingo night. The queues outside were growing so I think they are getting a lot of income from non-footballing events in the community.

Brazil the Club Champion. We are not allowed an opinion.
Businesses that live on the past live in the past.
The opening of the stadium should have been getting planned from the day it closed. Not now
The season tickets change over should have sorted out this time last year. Not no
The strip sponsor deal should have been tied up this time last year or at the least January. No now
The new Chairman’s first statement should have been to take some responsibility and not put the blame on others

Criticism and question of an organisation from within is the only way you'll ever truly progress.
If I was in the position of being a board member, I'd be expecting fans contacting me every day to be asking how well improve, why certain things are happening, why others aren't. The only way you'll improve is from these questions and feedback from within. This attitude of cutting slack when things go wrong is a clear indicator that folk are happy to go with it.

It's funny how some choose to almost completely ignore the errors made by the club, not only trivialise them but  see the frustration by supporters who, year after year, have put their money into the club, as moaning.
These sorts are exactly the reason the club continue to be unprofessional in many areas.

The new chairman is the SMISA representative. What chance have we got.
The Chairman’s statement is proof of how shambolic the club is at the moment. By the looks of that statement its not going to get much better.
A training ground that is not functioning, Using the main stand that knocks out it use for paying fans. Out of interest why on game day does it become the red zone when the players used it the day(s) before
Inferring that there are infrastructure issues in the ground. Could this be the failure of the club to obtain the required safety certificate in time for the season opening. Or other issues that could be resolved by personnel
The board don’t care. They have our money. They will be mixing in the boardroom quaffing drink, mixing with other club personnel then all sitting practically next to each other. Forgot the bit of them ensuring their cronies also got to watch the games.
The ground has 4 massive access points at the corners that could be utilised for access and egress without the need to go inside the ground. As for not being able to site within 2m of someone outside is utter bullshit. I don’t see the parks getting policed and arresting old people sitting next to each other on a park bench.

Good to see the deflection in the statement that people are verbally abusing staff as a way of trying to create sympathy for the club. WELL deal with the individuals they called the club therefore you will have all of their details.
Also we should not be using other clubs as a baseline of what we can do. What utter bullshit
Remember the new Chairman was on the board when all of this mess with strips, sponsors, season tickets and now ground allocation so he is as culpable for the lack of planning as the rest if the board.

The ballot system is useless. However I have put my name down because I'm fed up watching a live stream for my money that I've forked out for the last 2 seasons like a few thousand others. If I can't sit with my brothers and nephew then that's a complete nonsense, I'll wait till I see the result of the ballot to see if that's what happens. I also think the club should award the fans in some way for their support and loyalty over the last 2 seasons. In what way? That's for the club to decide but they should show their gratitude in some way.
