If Goody wants to play 2 up top, would Dennis be worth a try. IMO it is not working with Main

VAST majority of people who have actually used them, not some pompous twat, seem to think they do a good job.

Big_Mougie reacted to Mainstand Sweary Mob in Speculation Thread
Just my take on it. But last season was pretty good finish and we should really have looked to build attacking options on to it.
What we lost from last season and have found replacements for:
LWB - Mason = Tanser
CM Doyle-Hayes = Ronan
ST - Obika = Main
We also brought in Power. Not sure if that was to take the place of Sheron/Foley as that I feel is the position Jim wanted them in to play.
Kiltie might have been brought in as a back up if McGrath left, but hasn't.
Players we are yet to replace:
LM Durmas
RM/LM - Connolly
ST/RM - Quaner/Morias
We then needed maybe 3 more in to build on last season's form, but to either fit this system or to allow the ability to change it up.
Needs not met:
* Pace/Creativity - LWB/LM/LW
* Pace/Creativity - RWB/RM/RW
* either/or Tall/Strong/Fast Striker
Can these be met in the free agent market and with only Scottish, English, NI, Welsh or RoI players due to Brexit? Who knows.

Pie sports is an offshoot of Pars bakery who supply alot of clubs. Have dealings with them sometimes.

Big mistake, he’s a player that will come back to bite us on the arse, should be starting most weeks in my opinion and would have him In ahead of erhahon every day of the week.

If Goodwin allows Cammy to join another premiership rival on loan then he’s off his nut.

Big_Mougie reacted to Mainstand Sweary Mob in Welcome Marcus Fraser
Marcus Fraser is a legend!
My brother and I used to have season tickets, but gave them up when my son was born as I couldn't justify going on a Saturday.
My son is old enough and decided this season he wanted to go, so my brother, my son and I got season tickets again.
We got selected in the ballot to go to the Hearts game where my son said his favourite players were Main and Fraser. Said his most favourite was Fraser.
After the game he said he wanted boots like Fraser wore in the game. I hunted high and low on the internet to find them to see if did kids sizes, to find nothing.
I contacted the club to see if they could help me figure out the model. They said they spoke to him, where he said they were old and no longer can get them online.
Yesterday a package came for my son with the boots in it with his name on them and Marcus' autograph. He was over the moon.
I contacted him directly to thank him. He was so nice to respond and when speaking to the club they said it was all Marcus' idea.
Solid player and a true gent. I just wanted to share a positive since there has been a lot of negative about the club.

Conor McCarthy in the press talking of uncertainty over his future, other interest in him, and a contract extension that seems to have gone quiet. Come on Saints get an extension signed. Top centre back. Best we have.

Big_Mougie reacted to djchapsticks in The capacity debacle
I'm not going to spark a debate on this as I'm sick of doing so but in terms of public health and bodies piling up, the vaccines have well and truly put paid to that. There is no longer an immediate risk to the public at large and we should well and truly now be getting back to living our lives with as few restrictions as possible given that the overwhelming majority of people in the country are vaccinated.
5 people have died in Renfrewshire relating to covid in the last 30 days. Five. The risk to the public is now minimal and we have amazing vaccines which in 95% of cases reduce the effects of covid to a mild flu, coupled with a fantastic vaccine uptake by the public to thank for that.
There is absolutely no reason to continue with restrictions at the levels we have been for the last year and a half.

Two bob outfits don't attract bids from several clubs that could potentially make profits of £500K + on players scouted then signed for peanuts.

McCarthy 200k are they aff their nut? If that’s what we’re valuing our key players then we’d be better off just chucking it the noo!

Agree with the number 10 role.
He doesn't have the legs for the position he started his career out in. He can pick a pass and has a great shot as you say. If McGrath was to leave McAllister could find more game time if there is not another replacement internally or inbound to fill that role.

Brian Caldwell is singularly a bigger miss to this club than any individual player who moved on in the last decade! -
Big_Mougie reacted to alansaint in Speculation Thread
I also see him as a number 10 these days as opposed to a winger as he has lost a bit of pace and also he has the ability to see, and execute, high tariff passes hence being highest assister for goals last season. Better to be central to use that ability to it’s maximum. He needs to add a greater consistency to his game and we have a ready made replacement for Jamie albeit very different in styles and the other two in midfield would have to be adapted to suit. -

Jim has just publicly came out off the back of McAllisters link to St Johnstone and said he's an important player, though he doesn't fit his system.
If there is genuine interest in Erwin, I cant see the club standing in his way. We could get by on what we have, if we never had a replacement in before the window closes.
McGrath from what I believe is, he is happy to see out his contract, though if an offer comes in of his valuation and both parties are happy with the move, he will go before the window closes. Ideally if he is going to go, it happens soon so we can find a replacement, or at least use some of the cash to strengthen elsewhere too.
I've seen earlier talk about Erhahon. He is very highly rated at the club and the club won't entertain anything below 7 figures in my opinion. 2 years left on his contract, has a few minor flaws to his game yes, though a very intelligent passer of the ball for his age. Ethan is the type of player we should be trying to get an extension by a year at least to protect his valuation.

I think we're in a situation where McGrath is in no rush to leave , but won't be signing a new contract. Pretty sure if we get a half decent offer for him , and McGrath wants to talk to that club , then he'll be off . JG has previous in this type of situ with P McGinn and Magennis .

Big_Mougie reacted to TPAFKA Jersey 2 in Season tickets
Never ceases to amaze me (I assume) grown men knicker wetting over a fitba top or getting a season ticket that isn’t valid for another three weeks.
As long as the product on the park is up to scratch, that’s all I really give a f**k about.
I’m curious to know what folk expect to achieve by whinging like big weans on here?

Think he is someone who is going to become a bit of a fan favourite. Looked assured, brave in the tackle and fast as f**k.
