  1. Was he ? I thought he played for Arthurlie. Maybe I'm confusing him with someone else.
  2. The answer to the question posed in this thread title probably hinges on the January window and the ambitions of our board. Our current squad, with our current management team, is certainly capable of a top-6 finish, potentially 4th or 5th. However, with a few key players whose contracts terminate in June 24 (Baccus, Strain, others ?) there will be a strong temptation for the board to sell some of these key assets in January rather than lose them for zilch next summer. This attitude, while disappointing, is also understandable as any transfer income gained could be the key to the development of our squad for 2014-15. Sadly economic reality dictates that St Mirren will always be a "selling" club. Should the board opt to sell or should they aim to achieve the optimal finishing place in this season? We can only wait and see.
  3. One point from a possible 9 is worrying, but I support the manager's decision today to change to a more attacking line-up when 0-2 down at HT. A passive approach would never salvage anything at that stage. A lot of arses will be getting kicked tonight for sure.
  4. For the first time in years our wee group of pensioners could have a pre-match natter without competing against the noisy PA system. Oh joy !!!
  5. I hope none of our young supporters try to sneak into the stadium with flares tonight. Especially flares with turn-ups. So 1970's.
  6. The stink from the "works" at Fulbar Road next to that 16th hole will never leave my nostrils. The residents nearby must have been driven mad by that putrid stench.
  7. A nice midweek hat-trick. Thanks Celtic ..... Thanks Celtic ..... Thanks Celtic .....
  8. St Johnstone could have played until next Thursday without creating a goalscoring opportunity. Did you ever feel that our goal was under threat at any point today ?
  9. Agree with posts praising Mandron's composed finishes but IMO opinion our MOM today is a toss-up between Gogic and Taylor. So solid in the middle of defence. I can't see Dunne back in our starting XI unless injury / suspension give him an opportunity. I love watching our goal celebrations - it tells us everything about the team morale / unity. I am concerned, however, about the amount of money the club is spending on win-bonuses.
  10. 6-0 ? Pah !! I hope Robinson sends our lot onto the park with an instruction to aim for a 12-0 victory to reclaim our 2nd place in the league. 😁
  11. At the risk of being categorised as a Pedant (ok, I'm a Pedant), can I just express how much I despise this inappropriate thread title (Israel v Palestine). This is not a game ! Can a Mod please change the thread title ?? This is not a fecking cup tie or a league fixture. This is an all-out war and a humanitarian crisis where thousands of innocent civilians, men women children and babies, are being slaughtered by Hamas and by Israeli missiles. This is not a contest where one side gains three points and the other side goes home disappointed but still have the hope of picking up three points next week. There has to be a more accurate thread title for a discussion / debate of such seriousness. Surely ?
  12. Bet365 currently 11-2 the good guys. 2-5 the wee arra peepul. 7-2 draw.
  13. Time to back down again Robert, eh ?
  14. So, you haven't read the quotes from Brand's two books then. And it's Savile, one 'L'.
  15. FS, Brand has proudly boasted in his published books that he has forced his fingers and his penis inside the genitals of females who have resisted his 'charms'. There are no "assumptions", Brand is proud of his achievements and wanted everyone to read about it. Have you read the quotes from these books recently published in in The Times ?
  16. Credit to you for taking this stance as I detest this abhorrent cancel culture as much as you do. But it is especially brave of you to defend Russell Brand, who is a self-confessed misogynist who has written two biographies proudly recording how frequently he has been able to manipulate his way to have sex with girls who have fought off his sexual advances. The evidence is out there that Brand is Jimmy Savile #2. The guy is a f**king despicable monster. This is just the beginning of the story.
  17. Aged 93, Glasgow-born actor, "This Man Craig" to those of us old enough to remember it, Rabbie Burns devotee, and film star of the epic 1960's movie Jason and the Argonauts.
  18. Only one of these is at home. Season tickets aren't normally valid for away fixtures.
  19. Baccus and Strain are an amazing unit playing together, their interplay can be beautiful to watch. Look at the build-up to our penalty yesterday. I'm pretty sure O'Hara will be a starter when he's fit again but hopefully not at the expense of Baccus.
  20. Is there any news of possible injury worries for this one ? Taylor and Strain both took knocks yesterday.
  21. Motor homes are just big cars that people shit in. Not for me.
  22. Lincoln leading 2-0, Ethan Ehrahon's first goal in England.
