I've just listened to the meeting and if I'm honest had I not already committed I'm not sure I'd have been sold. There didn't seem to be any vision or any particular knowledge to suggest that there would be new ideas or initiatives.
I've raised my concern that no one appears to be talking about an SEN business model. It makes me concerned that no one has looked at that possiblity and yet it's exactly the kind of business model that fits football clubs like a glove.
Has Gordon Scott or anyone at SMiSA looked at The Atlantis model, the Homeless Football model or even at the models in place at Edinburgh Spartans? Has anyone considered the potential for lots of new small revenue streams coming into the club to reinvest in expansion? Has anyone been talking to local juvenile sports clubs or to community groups about how sharing resources could benefit all?
If it's just going to be more of the same then that's a terrible waste of yet another golden opportunity

Good quote from Gordon today in the press
Gordon Scott said: “The current board deserve a lot of credit for all they have done over the years – but one way or another they are going to sell up and move on.
“St Mirren fans have a simple choice – either be part of what are doing and build the future of our club together, or leave that future entirely to chance.
“It would be a life-defining achievement for me to become chairman of the club I have supported since I was a boy.
“My aim is simple – work with the fans and the community to give St Mirren the fresh ideas it needs, get the club back into the top league where it belongs, and hand it over to the fans to safeguard forever.”

I hear there is a taxi driver in the Glasgow area who weeps like a Jessie every time a customer says to him "the change"
Not much mention of this in the London papers but this morning, a tiny wee paragraph says
"Independent inquiry will be published in full"
not expecting much more than another coat of whitewash

No but that shouldn't have happened either.
40 years on & you want time to have stood still?
Next week, you might find out about the wheel. It was revolutionary. You will love it but maybe not, you seem happy enough stuck in the past.

1st paragraph, it states "the truth must not be distorted", yet they are determined to whitewash over all their misgivings & wrongdoings.
anyways, enough about that shower of shite.
Those defending the actions of Hibs &/or Rangers fans demonstrates the state of how morally bankrupt Scottish football is.
If this was any 2 other clubs, the clubs would be absolutely hammered but having any side of the Old Firm (lets not pretend that that's not how the establishment sees it), I expect only a token punishment will be given out.
Hibs should be absolutely hammered but Rangers cannot go unpunished if any of their fans were involved.
The SFA should buy themselves a wee tour of Wembley and then get back & invest in the rail system that stops pitch invasions at Wembley.
The fines given to Hibs and Rangers should pay for it so it is cost neutral.
Anyway, I hope Rangers get their wish & the trust does not get distorted but both clubs & their supporters come under very close scrutiny for their actions throughout the whole day & not the last 10 - 15 minutes of the day.

Do you know that their is foul language used there?
If so, maybe the people of Ferguslie don't see it as an issue.
However that's irrelevant if the residents of Ralston are fed up with employees of a professional football club swearing on a regular basis.
Would you be quite happy sitting in your garden on a lovely day, maybe young family members in attendance, and every few minutes you heard "effing and blinding".........................
PS The thread title of "snobs" is quite funny, is it still the 1960's/70's or do people still have a chip on their shoulder about people having nice houses?

another "Sumptuous three course dinner" then
It's almost as mind numbing as one of Ian Murrays post match interviews. Mind you, wouldn't be surprised if they decaled, they knew more about putting on a dinner than the fans did.
I'll wait for next years, it's bound to be sumptuous.

They sacked Craig & Murray for churning out the same old shite time after time after time....... Campbell Kennedy must be shitting himself.

No doubt this was the biggest crowd the girl had ever played to and there was no sound check. She hit a few bum notes early on and then got into it. She was fine.
I'm usually one of the biggest cynics but one of the few bright moments of yet another cold and dull afternoon in Paisley was seeing the parents of the young cheerleaders all getting out of their seats and lining the wall at the front of the main stand to proudly take their videos and their snaps of their kids performing. That's the very epitome of what a community club should be about - showcasing and celebrating local talent and giving youngsters the kind of experiences that they'll always remember with a great of fondness whether they go on to be big stars or not.
The tannoy system should be fixed, disabled fans should have an sheltered elevated perspective to watch football from and the club should continue to boost the numbers in the stands no matter the cost till the end of this season. Well done to Fitzy for everything he achieved today. I'm sure some lessons will have been learned along the way but despite the relatively insipid performance of the players nothing should be allowed to dampen the day.

I don't see a point scoring debate going on anywhere. Two legitimate points have been made and they are worth consideration. The first addressed the expectation some will have of fan power and the possible threat to finance and the second rightly points out that fans are being asked to finance Gordon Scotts Chairmanship of the club. Both points are valid and it may make a difference to how some view the takeover.
For me personally I'm still in. SMISA always stated their aim was to purchase shares and to get fans represented in the boardroom. This is in line with their stated goals and the longer term objective is complete fan ownership.

I don't intend getting embroiled in tit for tat, point scoring debate over this one. I'll happily note the (often legitimate) concerns and queries of others, and any responses that might be forthcoming, but the future of the club is at stake here.
I've decided that this is a punt I'm willing to take. I hope others feel confident in doing the same. There are no guarantees, but life doesn't come with many of those, and this seems to be an opportunity that might not come along again any time soon if we pass it up this time. It'll only work if we, as a collective, want it to, and put a bit of work and resource into achieving it, as others already have.

No they shouldn't. It's March. It's still wet and cold and the current season still has seven or eight games to go plus all cup finals.
My view? It should be ready to be worn and unveiled by St Mirren in the final home game of the season. The club should have shitloads of it set up for sale post-match in a hired marquee at the ground and in the club shop. Players should pop in post-game for photos and autographs for the kids.
Still, difficult to do that when you turn your team's final day finale over to another club to party on down.
