Having seen the U20s a few times this season I'd expect Darren Whyte and Conor O'Keefe to start for the first team in the near future.

Clarkson is not playing off Sutton... He is part of a midfield five which is designed to let both wingers get up the part.

Clarkson has also been quite effectual in that role with some nice link play. A damned sight more effective than Hutton.

Played really well for 25 minutes and dominated the game but Sons packed the defence and fristration set in for a bit.

Finished the half strongly and more of the same in the second half will see us win comfortably.

Just back from the game . 
Didnt think we played that badly today , we're just are lacking a bit of quality in the final 3rd .1st half especially we did OK and took the game to Hibs . We really need to cut out the soft goals we're conceding . 
The next couple of months are going to be very important for us . We really need to try and muster a win from some where .

Quinn is not match fit and just returning from injury.
The pleasing thing for me... even though it was only a 5 minute cameo... was seeing McManus have the bottle to try Clarkson in midfield... something I have been crying out for since Quinn was first injured.
He didn't shirk a single tackle... won every single challenge... closed everything down quickly... and did more in his 5 minutes than Hutton or Quinn had in the previous 85!
I hope we explore that option further as I feel his experience could be vital... he has the potential to be the midfield driving force and leader we currently lack!

The ba was on the slates when they stopped sharing gate money and the pubs opened all day. Never been the same since.

Another thing I need to ask....what is the role of the ball boys?
3-1 down at home heading into the last 15. Ball goes out for our throw in and our keeper, after a few seconds delay, obviously waiting on the ball being retrieved, has to head off the park into the corner of the stadium to get the ball himself whilst every single ball boy was sitting on their butts!
Now I know this did not effect the game today as we were never going to get back into it, but this is the norm these daysw. Unless the ball bounces at their feet, they do not make any effort to retrieve it and players waste time chasing after it.

If a simpleton fan like me can predict our capitulation based on seeing the lineup and working out the formation, why oh why can our manager not?

That central midfield puts additional pressure on what we laughingly call our defence.

Ironically when we played down the wings we looked quite dangerous... But then the crossfield passes involving the midfield would kick in and we were instantly in trouble.

Taking Sutton off when the formation had just been changed to suit his strengths was indefensible.

I have never lost faith in a manager so quickly. I stuck by Gus. I wanted Danny to get a new contract. I even tried hard to will Murray to turn it around. Rae has just bamboozled me at how bad his matchday decisions can be when he has assembled our strongest squad in a while.

Sunderland - a club in the centre of a city. Average home gate in excess of 40,000. Loads of parking restrictions around the stadium because people parking in the streets piss off the neighbours. Response. Park and Ride car parks set up on the outskirts of the City and buses to bring fans in. 
St Mirren - a club in an industrial wasteland, run down outskirt of a tired town. Average gate 2,000. Parking restrictions all around the derelict wasteland, so valuable to the council it plans to decant the remaining residents before bulldozing the whole area for a "Sports Village". Fans driving up to the gate of the club seeing a big car park with loads of empty spaces. "I'll have one of your empty spaces there sir, my good man". "Eh, naw you willnae. They are only for superderdooper fans who've bought season tickets and then paid extra for a parking permit, or for directors, or for friends of directors or for SMiSA or Fan Council committee members and you're no one of them cause you don't have a bad attitude". "So where should I park then kind sir". "Asda Linwood, near the Showcase Cinema. It's about 30 minutes walk away from here and there's some good movies on at half the price of watching this pish. We don't want new fans here anyway.....go on now f**k off".
Callum thinks this is all fine....:rolleyes: My mate was right. Fan ownership in Paisley is doomed to be a disaster. There's too many small minded idiots with a wee club mentality and a huge chip on their shoulder supporting the club,. 
Edited to add - I thought the club was supposed to have quite a cosy relationship with a number of politicians in the area. You know, like George Adam and stuff like that...You'd think they'd be able to have a wee word with their mates running the council. Or was it perhaps part of the plan to recoup the money given to the club for naming rights on the stadium? Funding crisis, lets make the Saints fans pay? 

Well done the women's hockey team. That was an exciting final. Quite enjoyed the hockey... tough old game that, fast, not for the faint hearted. Team GB goalie was superb.

Thanks for that SBS. It was the away match I remember. I'd gone with my Grandpa and I just remember hating Coatbridge, hating that ground, and hating their town centre. I was 10 back then, the picture in my head suggests it was raining heavy too but I don't know if that's right. I've never liked Coatbridge since.

Superb match last night. Both players looked out on their feet at times, but still battled back. One of the best tennis finals I have seen in many a year.
Just imagine how the top tier of mens tennis would look had Delpo not got injured after winning that US open all those years ago. He would surely have been one o the main men, if not the very top. But well done Andy. Back to back Olympic titles.
