Whilst l don't go to as many away games as l used to ,  going to games does give a different perspective than say , listening to it on the radio. .

I would take a scrappy 1-0 victory right now , but have a feeling it will be more comfortable than our previous 2 games against them. Hopefully see a reaction to last Saturdays loss . 4-1 Saints .

All too often this season we have shelled it to the wee guy up front - especially from Sammy's kick outs.
We are also too easily out muscled/jumped in the middle of the park and often struggle to control the midfield.
However that does not seem to overly concern JR as he does not place too much priority on possession football going by this interview.
I thought he might have tried Mark Hill to bolster up the midfield for the more physical games like last Saturday's.

Watched the second part where my interpretation was he was frustrated at the attitude of most of the players when he arrived at the club. They weren't interested on high intensity training (working hard) and he couldn't wait to get rid of them. My observation was that at that time something was rotten about the club culture and Jack eludes to that.
He explains the Aberdeen performance and how he plans to adapt to a higher league should we get there. I think there will be some very interesting times ahead and Jack and James should do us proud for not only this season but next season too.
He trusts his players and if they adapt to his ethos like Kyle Magennis did, he will back them to the hilt. If you don't like his methods you're out the door. In my mind that's exactly how a manager should motivate his players.

John Sutton is, in my opinion, a true professional and a good man to have at the club but time marches on and styles if play change. John was never the quickest . He hasn't got any faster with the passing years
Results over the season have been excellent and those have almost invariably come through our "busy" passing and movement so Jack  has ,iit appears got his decision to keep John on the bench.
As to Hipolyte, he certainly caused us bother when we played Falkirk. He is younger and more mobile than John so more likely to feature.

Jack is a fantastic manager with a great assistant in James I would give them 9/1/2 out of ten. What is needed is the bully experienced one in midfield  which looks to have been signed now. We will win the league what a party that will be need to make sure I'm up the road for it.

Nothing has changed. Every game is still a must win game (even if we just lost one). The team has been coping with this since last January so I'm sure they can handle it.
3 games in 6 days will be tough.  Fans wallets are going to take a pasting.  Good effort all the Buds who make it to any of these three games because there is a good chance they will make or break our season never mind our banks.
One game at a time though so Come on ye Saints. 3 points on Saturday
    Thank you.

I think it is disrespectful to the opposition to suggest that any game still to be played will be easy.
I was at Brechin. We didn't play well and perhaps got more out of the game than we deserved. Hence my caution.
I was at Dunfermline earlier in the season and that gave me cause to be cautious before our game there recently which I also attended. As it turned out we won. Glad of that.
I watched Livvy play Dunfermline last week when we had no game.  The way they play, the commitment they show and their physicality as well as the state of their pitch led me to believe that a point there would be a point gained and not two lost. I would love to have been wrong.
I can only call it as I see it.
I would like to think that I am optimistic by nature but also a pragmatist.
In my opinion games will become tougher as we move towards the end of the season and remain that way until the championship is won and both play off and relegation play off place are decided.
    Great ...lots of meaningful games.
    Bring them on.

It's all about opinions. Agenda's and negativity are two different animals.
I haven't watched the second video yet but Jack appears to favour a style whereby a player like Sutton who thrives on route one style balls into the box is not part of the plan. He wants players who move the ball about and create goals from the 17 yard area not the 6 yard area.  That style of play just doesn't suit JS. When he tries to control the ball and hold it up in these situations he generally falls on his arse and achieves nothing. The only goal he scored, which was a cracker, was the one at Dumbarton where he seemed to jump miles above everyone to head it in from 6 yards.  He doesn't have the pace and it doesn't suit his style to run onto balls on the edge of the box and smash them in the way the way Morgan, Reilly and Smith, etc do.
The big problem as everyone can see is Plan B.  I think it was Mark Whartburton who was ridiculed for saying Plan B is to do Plan A better.  Gordon Strachan was criticised for saying our players are too wee. Jack I think is a Do Plan A better type guy who believes in his wee players. On some occassions Jack has shown how  our wee team can destroy bigger stronger teams like ICT and Falkirk and give them a good humping but if that team has any kind of ability and Gile, we can't cope. Livi and Dundee Utd away being the prime examples. Both these teams used phyisical, psychological and rule bending tactics to stop us playing. Kyle Magennis is up for a good scrap but i'm not sure who else is.
While John Sutton has something to offer to other teams he doesn't fit our style and isn't that good at the role he's been given. Playing for another team he would probably turn into a Ryan Hardie and score two against us every week though, so for that reason let's just keep him. Jack picked Hypollitte to play his system hopefully he'll be better suited to it than John who has been a great servant to the club but I think his time has come to an end.
Our wee team should see this out but we might need to bulk up a bit for next season. Then again Spain were a bunch of wee guys when they won the world cup so maybe that's what Fitzy was thinking when he said we'd win the Premiership next year

If we played like that every week this season, I'd be more concerned about the possibility of us playing like that every week next season to be honest.

    Oh Dear ,
couple of things to pick up on if you will....
    1. When did Jack Ross ever give anyone the impression he thinks he is "Jack the Biscuit "  & what does that even mean ?
    2. How does the amount of supporters  a team has have any bearing on how a team performs or how results unfold ?  Were you saying simliar when we handed Septic their arses on a Plate in 2013 ?
We got beat... well beat. We learn and move on.  All teams in this league will take points off each other before the season is finished.

Difficult day, made worse by the fact that three of the Livi goals went in right in front of most of the Buddies fans, so we could see the inability of our defence to clear its lines very clearly. For once, Chick Young got it right...we were outmuscled. They were bigger and stronger than we were, hence why I and others have been asking for a strong tackler in midfield to break up attacks. Also, I thought Jack Baird and Harry Davis had a shaky day, unusual for them.
Last time we were at Livingston we had a man sent off and still won well, so David Hopkin has clearly brought in the right players in January, to improve his team just in time for the run-in. Unfortunately we don't seem to have done the same. We are playing with largely the same team as before. I feel sorry for Mullen who puts in great shifts but hasn't really clicked, Flynn seems to be settling in reasonably well, still too early to judge Hill and Hippolyte.
Apart from all that the events of the week must have had an effect on the players. Remember that a fair number of the team is young players brought to the club by JR. They must have been worried by the hoo-hah. When it happened with Dundee in the summer, they weren't playing games. This time they were unsure of what was happening less than 48 hours before playing their nearest rivals in the league. Also, I noticed that Jack was not asked any questions about the Barnsley business in his post-match interview. Clearly the issue was likely to have a bearing on the game, but it wasn't mentioned. Looked as if it had been agreed beforehand that it wouldn't feature.
Despite all of the above, we remain 11 points clear of Livi, so it's not time to panic yet. If we had been given the chance to pick our next opponent, we couldn't have done better. A draw between Livi and United on Friday night and three points against Brechin on Saturday will steady the ship. Also, Jack has a week to settle the nerves in the players, so......COYS!!
PS. I also prefer my Bovril with pepper!

It's defeats like today that will make winning the league all the more enjoyable come April.

We have a great chance to regroup and bounce back against Brechin next weekend.

    Onwards and upwards!

First league defeat since 2nd December.  First away league defeat since 4th November (that's over 3 months ago).
At least 5 or 6 of the starting 11 had their worst game of the season, all in the one game. In fact you could argue it was all in the one half.
    That won't happen again.
Still 11 points clear with 11 (or 12) games left.

We play some nice football ( at times ) Thought we have looked average in a lot of games second half of last season we played better. It's not the end of the world no way we will throw this away. My Livie match preview I wrote this was a much improved side who dismantled Falkirk and now  St Mirren with ease Livie have come good at the right time. Have wrote  like a few  others we lack a big f**k off a bulldog In midfield.  Still confident we will win the league.  Finally keep reading 4 - 1 was a bad day at the office. Come on guys we did not get beat we were well and truly humped BIG time.  Emotional turmoil from mid week with all speculation? Could be but not good enough 4-1 dress it up all you want bottom line is very , very poor.

    Good post IOBS
, I have kept my feelings mostly to myself but the last 10 games or so barring the odd exception I have felt we were fortunate to win. We are in a good position to win this league, for me if this means being dirty, nasty, and to fight our way there then so be it. The prize is there, let’s make sure we take it first time and avoid at all costs this play off shite (which we know is heavily weighted against championship teams).
