Would be a bad move to appoint Thommo as manager with no experience, he needs to start off with a smaller club like Hartley and Alan Johnson and learn his trade.He wants to play for another 2 seasons anyhow, so maybe a future manager in years to come. I posted on here years ago , around the time that Thommo had scored a vital goal in Burnley's promotion season , that Basher had told me that he had been in Thommo's company and he had said then that not only would he finish his career as a Saints player, but (at that time) would be after Gus's job too.
