There may well be very good reasons financially for separating out the "Community" element and get the charitable status defined as it can then apply for grants.

Cue Stu Dicko going mental on how terrible it is that club like St Mirren with a multi-million pound turnover is exploting SFA and Government grants.

Is you conscience pricking you Slash?

I don't mind St Mirren getting grants to assist with the cost of running worthwhile community projects - the issue I have is how tenuous the line gets. St Mirren should never have been awarded the SFP grant for the dome but it's hard to argue with the likes of the community garden project or the employability and work training. programme. I would imagine though that it is sensible to split the Community Trust from the club as it ring-fences funding for it's intended purpose.
