Kenny McDowall would be a candidate for the list if not for two games - the Cup win on May 16 1987 and scoring the winner at the season opener at Ibrox in 89/90.

Kenny McDowall had two of the best elbows in the game during his time!

That team has Scottish League two in the lower half written all over it

He was a hardly cnut not a great player though

We seem to get the worst of part deals those days

Sinclair for Lexy wtf

Mackie for Cowboy double wtf

Mad Monk for Alan Logan plus we paid them 45 grand

Charley and Elliot for Shaw and McWalter plus a shitload of cash

Have we ever got the better of a swap deal?

Paul Chalmers

mmmm

Scored a few goals for us and got into double figures in the top flight. Also helped us on the way to winning the Scottish Cup. His goal at Cappielow where he sneaked behind O'Hara in anticipation of him playing it back to the keeper was genius and he persevered to score a classic winner that day also.

Not the silkiest player, obviously, but he scored goals.

Regular stalwart in one of the most successful Saints side for over a quarter of century, including being captain.

There were far far worse defenders that played for us over the years.

Yeah. Apart from that he was actually pretty awful.

After been blessed with the likes of the 3 Franks and Doug Somner for the previous few years any new CF would

have a lot to live up too, sadly for Chalmers he just wasn't in the same class as any of those guys, but TBH the whole

team was on the slide by then even though we won the cup in 87.

still he certainly doesn't deserve to be on this list, not the best but far from being one of the worst..

A bit hard on Thomas Reilly who just didn't fulfill his early potential.

Some I have forgotten!

Peter Weir for Ian Scanlon plus cash? Devastated at the time but turned out good.

I’d forgotten a few of them.
Hegarty got injured taking a corner.[emoji23][emoji23]
Jon Robertson was decent but struggled with confidence issues.
McQuade was a lazy wee kent.
Gow was a first class wage thief.

Yeah , l don't think Douglas Imrie was all that bad either he was messed about a bit. .thats all. .

The problem for/with Imrie was the other players we had available when he was here. Once Kenny McLean returned from injury Imrie was not an automatic first choice and he dropped even further down the pecking order the following season when John McGinn emerged - our other midfield options at the time also included Carey, Goodwin, McGowan & Teale.

Looking back we had some squad in 2012/13!
