Singing Section W5 (Confirmed) + Update

Recommended Posts

This could prove to be vital.

When the team were toiling last season and heading into half time 2-0 down against Motherwell it looked curtains for us, then up popped Thommo right on half time and the fans and players found the belief to get us out the mess. The fans from then on were excellent. We backed the team to the hilt and aimed our negativity/poison for the opposition players and refs instead of the team. Who cares if we get a reputation for being hostile, thats what the Northbank seemed to be built on. Teams love coming to our newish stadium with great facilities and a perfect pitch. They'll also love hearing St Mirren fans turn on their own players. Save it for the opposition if you need to boo someone. As long as the abuse is not breaking any laws.

It is a very young team and they don't deserve the abuse they get. Nobody in a Saints jersey does ( unless it was Nacho Novo ).

Good luck with it, hopefully it will be a success and it improves our results on the pitch and creates a great atmosphere off it.

What about calling yourself " the Left Side " , and having the occasional taunts at " the Right Side " to encourage them to sing ?

Thats like the old . `The back of the bus cannae sing , cannae sing` .................... song biggrin.png

Just don`t mention buses on the Scottish cup thread tongue.png

Really struggling with what to call ourselves but we are split in half with 2 names

The Black and White Brigade

or

The Union Pandas

The Choir? That's what we were called for years.

The North Bank? That's what we were called since then.

Pandamonium? ©

Pandarmy?

The Negratives?

The Greys? (goes with the stadium and a mix of our colours)

Now, here is a Stoatir - perhaps lost on the younger 'set'... The Monochrome Set ©

Decent idea. Just make sure you don't bring a drum!!

Not sure who it is thats involved but if it's the group of young guys that sadly lost their Thistle supporting mate (RIP) the other year then it's a good group to begin with. Met the lads up in Inverness at the start of last season and are a good crowd.

Hope you get this to work lads!

Best idea is to get pished before the game, that's the reason the away crowd is so vocal.

Sell booze in the stadium, pub for 3 hours before the game, then hope the ref gives a couple of shite decisions against us early on, followed by a really crunching tackle from one of our players, then a bit of 'handbags' pushing with a few players. THAT gets the atmosphere going!

But, especially the pished bit.

Don't give yourselves a silly name like the supras etc. Just be the St Mirren Active group and get people involved in not only singing sections at the games and creating an atmosphere but getting people actively involved in things like raising money for our youth academy and things like that. Be active supporters to encourage people to take part in all things st mirren and our community.

Surprised thats the first negative post tbh, It will be a success! When I first started this I would of thought of it a success if 20 people turned up! Little did I know that so many more people wanted to get involved!

So buzzing for next week!

Great effort, hope it's a success.
