Trying to play football, but other than a few well worked moves, Bradford have had bulk of possession but not done much with it. We look well structured defending this far.

Just had a shot on goal from edge of box well saved and keeper saved thommo's rebounded effort...

Taking too long to update...Bradford just scored a rather sloppy goal for us to lose with next attack...

Saints playing tippy tappy shite.

Losing possession before we even get out our own half.

Bradford dominating.

Pretty hopeless all round.

Glass half full?

Last 10mins Bradford have looked good on break with us further up the park but only a few half chances.

Bradford have used their wingers and crossing particularly well. Ridgers flapped at a corner but been ok thereafter.

In fairness though in time taken to write this Bradford establishing some dominance again, but good defending keeping them at bay for now.

Just saying what I see.

We are struggling to get out own half and many of the Bradford attacks start from us losing possession in midfield.

Pretty poor IMO.

McMullan is half decent but that is about it.

Howieson is a complete ghost. He should be wearing a white sheet and clanking chains.

Baird & Kelly have both managed to fall over by standing on the ball while caught in 2 minds. Just f**cking clear it!

Ridgers flapped at a cross. Haven't even noticed Carswell.

In summary, hopeless!

Same old same old. Lots of passing around the back with no purpose.

This back four will give me nightmares. There's no communication between them, their offside line runs diagonal. As well as them being easily dominated in the air.

McMullan looks alright, otherwise nothing to shout about

Bradford definitely the better side.

We've done okay though, McMullan looks a proper player.

Both Kelly and Baird have been shaky at the back though, that's a position we need to address pretty urgently. Andy Webster would be excellent...

Howieson has looked tidy on the left, not outstanding thought. Not sure he's much better than the likes of McLear and Morgan. Conlan (?) the left back has been ok. Again, not sure if he's done enough to win a deal though.

I'm a happy clapper...

So, first home outing...half time update...

Ridgers, not much to do. Looked out of position to start with with a number of Bradford crosses however many over hit so got away with them. Flapped at a corner and perhaps a bit slow out for their goal but was one on one from 7 yards so perhaps not much he could do. Since then has had a better half with crosses. No real saves to mention. Wearing a pink/magenta strip with light purple chevron on front...for those interested in goal keeping kit.

?Conlan - up against their best player so far on their right wing. Another slow start but come more into things as half has gone on. Hasn't lost the ball but perhaps struggling for pace.

Kelly - looked ok other than one slip over the top of the ball.

Baird - started slowly but after that has been pretty solid defensively.

Naismith - solid defensively but distribution mediocre. That said has had one or two one-twos up the line creating half chances.

Howieson - started brightly but perhaps faded slightly. Has kept the ball well.

Agnew - quiet game but again not lost the ball.

Carswell - tidy footballer on this evidence. Has dropped the deepest of the midfield 5 making it more of a 4-1-4-1. Happy to pick ball up as modified sweeper, good distribution.

Mallan - putting himself about and linking well going forward.

McMullan - light weight and not helping much defensively so far, but looks tidy going forward. Involved with Mallan in most of our positive moves forward.

Thommo - not had much opportunity so far but looks resplendent in new kit. Perhaps unlucky not to score with rebounded effort. Needs a bit more support second half.

Perhaps more importantly though...

Both and I repeat both manager and assistant have been standing and I repeat standing on the touch line throughout the first half!!!

Finally though and I've saved the best til last the subs have just completed a supervised warm up which did not involve one chipped attempt at the crossbar sailing into the stand!!!

A new dawn has truly arrived at St.Mirren Park.

ETA: funny how we all see things slightly differently...
