TopCat
Hearing Div is set to join preseason training as a trialist next week. If he can prove his fitness he'd be worth a short term contract IMO.
JJ McG
Always rated him when he was with us, hard as nails as well.

HSS
Any news on the Titanic??!!! I heard a wee story today that David Barron is coming back if he can prove his fitness.
Ayrshire Saints
Was struggling to get a game low level juniors last I heard. Very uninspiring!!!
gazmc83
This must be a wind up? This is a massive step backwards he wasn't good enough hence why he was freed so why would we take him back ? davidg
He was voted player of the year whilst playing out of position. He's not fantastic on the ball but is no nonsense in defensive terms, strong and relatively quick. He chucked it due to an injury problem and pursued a different career. I wouldn't look at him if we were still in the top flight but we're not. If he's free of injury I'd happily give him the preseason as a trial period. shull
Give Barron a chance. He was more than decent previously. He can be again.
Mid Calder Saint
We need to build a strong squad of good fit players not ones who are injury prone in my opinion. This player has not played at a decent level for too long. This is just ridiculous.Time to move forward not backwards. TopCat
Surprised at some of the negativity. We are talking about a guy here who was our player of the year a few years ago. A guy who can play right across the back line and has around 100 top flight games to his name. He's only 27. He had to give up the game due to horrendous injuries. If he's managed to get himself fit since he left us, what's the problem with giving him another chance?
ulysses
If he's in for a trial, that's fair enough. If he's fit, he'll probably get a deal. if not, he won't. Can't really argue with it.
Callum Gilhooley
I have no problems with David Barron. Was a decent player with us , versatile & tough tackling, unfortunate with injuries . He has been offered a trial & some training with us & if he proves himself , why not ? One of the main reasons for our interest is that he would be cheap as chips, which unfortunately will be a major deciding factor with all our signings this year. foxbar_bud
I wonder if Mark Lamont would be invited back again since we have dropped a level. Wouldn't imagine so as wasn't it Murray that let him go at Dumbarton?
TB1
I wonder if Mark Lamont would be invited back again since we have dropped a level. Picked up a serious injury just after the New York City FC game so doubt he would be fully fit for pre-season.
TB1
Div Barron would do a good job if fit and not on high wages, can play full back and cover for Goodwin when he is suspended which he done in the 2-1 Sevco game on Xmas eve.
TopCat
Was pictured in preseason training yesterday. It's one we shouldn't be hurrying to give a deal, we aren't going to have much competition. I would start him against Bradford and in any other preseason games we get arranged. Have a good look at him playing to make sure he's properly fit before giving him a contract.
irvine_buddie
Don't think he's played professional football at all since getting injured around the time we won the cup, seems a strange one but if he's on a low wage then there's not much to lose. Have a good look at him playing to make sure he's properly fit before giving him a contract. Seems eminently sensible to me. I was stunned he's only 27, TBH. If, and it's a big if, he's fit enough to compete, then we know how good a player he could be for us, especially at this level. He's a committed guy and I'd like him to prove to be good enough to get a deal, if that makes sense. I know it was just one moment, but I always think of his thumped effort that kissed the crossbar in that game we don't talk about in 2010. Oh how different things could have been.
