billymehmet1
Does anyone else think that mallan seems to have fallen down pecking order Mallan set prices and free kicks where great last year yet. He can't get to take a free kick or corner. Abd. Why does he not take our pens he's best stricker of ball at club
saintstroller
It's only the first game of the season . Hard to tell if he has fallen down the pecking order. Mallen is the future Personally I think we should build the midfield around him.
saltcoatsbuddie
murray has brought in carswell and agnew so its pretty clear he thinks they are fabulous while all the rest have to feed off scraps ,tonight free kicks and corners were abysmal
billymehmet1
How is it too early. Have u been to any pre season games or the cup game. Agnew takes everything. When mallan is better

He can't get to take a free kick or corner. Abd. Why does he not take our pens he's best stricker of ball at club I'd have Mallan or Agnew, who strikes the ball very sweetly, takin the pens. Or even Howison as he took his goal calmly. Never convinced with Thommo's penalties but it takes a brave man to stand up there and take it, id imagine. Saint Garf
I agree Mallan should be taking the free kicks and corners, Agnew isn't bad, but Mallan's delivery is excellent.
TopCat
Yeah Mallan is better than dead balls than Agnew. I think it's force of personality that's keeping him off them, young Stevie seems a shy young fellow. In future let's hope Mallan isn't just taking the free kicks, let's hope he's taking the penalties too.
Sonny
Mallan's corners and free kicks were one of the few pluses from last season. Whipped in at head height almost every time. Would prefer him than Agnew from what I have seen so far.
insaintee
Agnew had some decent deliveries in the Berwick game. The solution is simple, mix it up.

Funnily enough I spoke to Stevie's dad a couple of months ago for some time and he said he's trying to get him to have a bigger voice on the pitch as he lets other players take control. Or last season Goodwin taking free kicks and mallan not standing up saying it's his Plus I think that Agnew will be Murray's bum boy so mallan is going to suffer this season
FTOF
Agnew's deliveries from free kicks against Berwick were excellent. Last night they were poor. He had an off night. Just be thankful that we've got both Mallan and Agnew who are both capable of very useful deliveries from dead balls.

Not at all.
Sergie's no1 fan
I was desperate for Mallan to take that free kick last night because I had him on to score anytime but even I had to admit it was positioned better for a left footer. Mallan will get his chances this season though and he'll create and score plenty .
steve_the_saint
He tried to take the pen against Berwick but thommo pulled rank. Hopefully now Mallon will be on them after thommos miss.
aldo_j
Just watching the game back from last night. 30mins in and I don't recall mallan touching the ball. Like many have said, he's got the ability. Just needs to step up and take control of games. Edited August 8, 2015 by aldo_j

norrie82
Agnew didn't do well last night. At one point the rangers goalkeeper actually said to the defender when I catch this you go wide. What follows is Agnew hit it to the gk. Unbelievable jeff

nosferatu
Agnew should take set plays from the right and Mallan from the left, ala Nicolson & Ross
shull
Mallan is more than just a decent player. Could be a great player. Needs to stop acting like a spoilt child though on Pitch. Greeting a few times today to Referee over hee haw. One time when he was bursting forward and was perfectly tackled. And another time when the ref placed the ball for a free kick about a foot away from where Mallan thought it should be. Just get on with the game.
