So because he agrees with a stance made by SNP councillors more than a decade ago, it means he must agree with a stance taken by SNP councillors a few days ago. Christ, and I thought the cybernats were bad! And before I'm accused of any political bias, I have no strong feelings on any particular political party at local, Holyrood or Westminster level. The only exception is those councillors who voted against the planning applications in 2005 - regardless of which party they were. It would be nice if either or both of Scotland's big two parties actually stood up for working people and refused to implement Tory austerity cuts! Instead they both say a big boy done it and ran away! The SNP blame the Tories and then make their cuts at Holyrood Labour blame the SNP and make the cuts at local level. Both think the answer is for working people to pay for austerity by taxing the working class more whether by a 1p increase on income tax or increases in council tax bandings. One's as bad as the other and both do the Tories dirty work. I'm voting TUSC for socialism. That's like saying i would refuse to abandon a lavish lifestyle to satisfy the conditions impsed by my fixed income. A cynical person would think there was an election coming up... From the artist's impression it seems to be mainly football pitches with a few other bits and bobs. At the risk of sounding like a former forum member, the lack of an athletics track does seem a bit odd. Can only assume it's felt the track at Linwood is close enough to cover that one. Would have thought there'd be tennis courts too and veldrome, although the outdoor course must be the "cycling track" referred to in the original. Does St. Mirren not own a chunk of the land across the road from the away end, nearest the railway (The C shaped building up to the second pitch?). If so, are they selling this ground to the council then renting it out, or just basically getting the funding for the development to happen and its ours? There's a possibility that the dome wasn't necessary for the visual as the ground it sits on is covered, though the new indoor facility in the proposal could well be the reason too. Does this mean St Mirren are involved in a community project? Is it for the wider community, or just the St Mirren supporting community? The elite athlete community? IMO .If we get five more years of the Dome we will be doing well. By that time these plans might have just about come to fruition ( if they can rustle up the cash) and the Dome may be replaced with a more Ravenscraig type structure on a shared use deal ?
