The ref let them away with far to much, their big centre back was at it all day plus Cammy Bell is a cheating bastard conned the ref & got Loy booked

Wish we were that bad................

Flood did what he was there to do, make the necessary fouls with the minimum of fuss. Got straight back up when he was hit in the face by the ball close to full-time when he could've spent a good minute plus rolling around then getting treated, fair play to him -  my MotM.

United were a bit more streetwise than us & just about deserved to win it. :(

The Ref Didn't!

What's with all the moaning about the referee not sending Flood off? Mallan went in with a clear elbow to Telfer's face and it was a straight red card all day long, and twice on Sundays. Also, the referee awarded St Mirren a ton of free-kicks in dangerous positions which we messed up. Mallan should have been salivating with the amount of free-kicks the referee awarded us. Some of them were for instances where no contact was made, but Loy and/or Mallan jumped, sensing contact could come. The referee also awarded us several free kicks every time one of their defenders came in hard at the back for a high ball.
The referee was more than fair. We lost because we missed at least three great chances - the Loy post-hitter, the Mackenzie flying header, the Morgan shot dragged wide, and a great cross that bounced unchallenged two yards from their goal line with no-one there to knock it in. Add those missed chances to the sheer amount of free kicks we cocked up and there you have it.
They took their chances and we didn't. Beaten fair and square.

Marking/closing down Flood at any point might even have helped us.

I don't disagree with your post, but the above is still a free kick. There doesn't need to be contact.

Back home in Jersey, great weekend, United probably deserved to shade it on their second half performance.

We just couldn't keep a hold of the ball last 30 minutes and never looked threatening whereas they looked like they had another goal or 2 in them, great catching up with some old faces, onwards and upwards bigger fish to fry next couple of weeks, 2 massive must win games.

Seconded James. Cracking day out and great night back in the Bull with some old friends.

Special mention for the fans yesterday. Absolutely outstanding.

I thought Stellios should have been brought on the second half to add a bit of energy which we were lacking

That is the one omitted thing that could have changed it for us but for whatever reason wasn't deployed . .

He should have been on at the hour , that is my only criticism of Jack Ross . .

Black and White Army on Saturday - 10/10

Tartan Army last night -1/10

Imagine booing on a Substitute FFS. And atmosphere, in general, was poor.

Hopefully be fantastic in June when back for the England game.

More importantly, Ayr on Saturday should be awesome.

COME ON THE SAINTS

Can't argue with that to be fair.

And the Magennis shot that was actually saved by Cammy Bell in the first half. We lost because we had lots of good chances and stuck 90% of them past the post and hardly tested the keeper!
