SBS
Went with a Celtic supporting mate to a charity event that Tommy was heavily involved in a few years ago. Had the pleasure of spending a bit of time with him and he was a great guy. For what he had achieved in the game he was down to earth and spoke a lot about his time at Dundee and general football. It was never all about Lisbon and Celtic. Funny as well. Genuinely nice man. Will be sadly missed.
faraway saint
Funeral today for big Tam. Immortalised for scoring in the 1967 European Cup final but admired for being a football man. I think this was reflected by the immaculate response to the minutes silence last week at Parkhead from the St Mirren fans. RIP. Froggie
I have no doubt that were it ever reported that an ex Saints player had died, the Celtic support would have shown the same grace. Tonights tv news will likely show scenes from Celtic ground of crowds lining the route of the cortege. Some may find it heartening to know that so many people were able to get a day off work to mourn. I couldn't possibly comment, being inhuman myself.
