Tom Walsh - backup winger?

Decent player at this level.  That goal he scored against Falkirk to rescue a point is the best goal we've scored all season IMO.  Also scored a late equaliser down at Ayr early in the season.

Players on loan from the OF clubs don't get the same level of patience among our support as other youngsters do, so he became vilified pretty quickly.

Charlie Adam, Scott Cuthbert and Graham Carey would disagree with your last sentence. :)

Naw, naw, naw, naw!!! Why would anyone want to go back to any of the lot that left us at the transfer window? There may be a player in Walsh somewhere but Walsh + St Mirren = doesnae work!

At least not while he had been another teams player.

these guys didn't need patience though cos they are all great players

Paul mcgowan is a other old firm loanee who was pretty decent

so was Donald hunter....

If he's still available pre season we should get him back in to work with Jack and James , there is definitely a player in there.

Jack played Walsh from the start against Morton at Cappielow and he was dreadful. He was ditched at half-time and Jack never picked him again. No chance Jack will now re-sign him. Talented but lazy and doesn't fit Jack's style.

Agree. Talented but doesn't like the hard work. Some players are like that. Some change, some don't.

There must be something in his attitude, whether lazy, or other problems that we don't know about. He was let go by us, Rangers let him go, and then he finds it hard to get a gig elsewhere.

yeah, a player that has the quality and ability to develop does not sit on the scrapheap.  Where would he fit on or play within the players we currently have available? Would be way down the pecking order on the wings and even more so if Flanagan signs up.

Exactly this. Jack talked about good player's being 10% good feet and then the rest was made up of head/attitude and heart/desire

Walsh was very good with a ball at either foot. Technically a very good footballer but his desire just wasn't there.
