I wish I'd known about this. I would've loved it. Hopefully they will put it on again.

Good news only 6% got tickets to the number who applied for tickets meaning the Planetarium were overwhelmed by the numbers wanting tickets so they are looking at running this show for a couple of months later this year so keep your eye out for dates.

So what was the show like ? You sit in comfy seats facing the dome celling. First off a discussion of the galaxy which is on show on the dome celling , the size is huge you sit in your seat and go wow ! Lights go out talking stops a familiar heart beat comes over the speakers Dark Side Of The Moon has started. Before your eyes are the most extraordinary graphics and colours in time with the music. As the screen is so huge the feeling of motion is always there , you are travelling inside and outside of the amazing graphics. Have never taken drugs that make you hallucinate but my god this felt like a trip , a drug trip. Even if you did not like the music of Dark Side Of The Moon this show would impress and have you talking about it for weeks. Any down sides then ? Too short we were seated at 18.30 and out by 20.00 a testiment to how good the show was you wanted it to go on longer. Next might not bother everyone , was really disappointed  in the sound system it did not hit the note so to speak. A very flat sounding system. It's clear and loudish though room for more volume. Its a shame because you can see a lot of money has been spent but the sound system seems to be an after thought , its nowhere near as good as a cinema sound system but it should be. Don't miss this show it's truly amazing.

The projector is made by Carl Ziess so the images will be top notch but for normal planetarium duites they don't need a good hifi system , hence the let down. .
