The 2017/18 Champions League & Europa League Thread

Shocking first half, seemed to have settled for the fact they wouldn't lose 3 goals.

Could easily have been 2-0 down at half time.

Credit to the manager, 2 swift changes at half time changed the game and, although they lost, they we the better team in the 2nd half.

Overall, poor IMO.

I don't accept players have the "keep our lead" attitude when 60,000 have paid good money.

Do not think the players really care what the punters think.

Well, that's only an opinion, and hard to quantify.

The fact is the team were very poor in the first half,  played much better, although hardly scintillating, in the 2nd half when they, ironically lost a goal.

A difficult situation when you're as good as through but unacceptable to sit back IMO.

One win, five losses, -13 goal difference and that qualifies Celtic for another tournament. European football is a load of nonsense now.

No doubt they will be praised for clinching "European football after Christmas" like it was some sort of glorious, historical achievement.

While the facts are hard to disagree with the same argument, more money etc, is probably the main issue here.

It's next to impossible for teams to compete agaisnt other teams who have massive resources.

Its used against  Celtic, quite rightly, but it's ignored when they are in Europe?

Getting into the Europa League is probably as good as it gets for any Scottish team.

You have to remember the efforts  of the other Scottish teams in this seasons, and other recent seasons, European campaigns.
