bazil85
Mountain out of a molehill springs to mind for this thread but going by a couple people posting on it, It's hardly surprising. JUST GIVE ALL CHILDREN A DECENT PRICE TO PAY AT THE SUMMER CAMPS. It's not difficult. https://www.stmirren.com/news/community/community-news/937-summer-football-camps-2017-1 20 June 2017 Summer Football Camps - 2017 SMFC Webteam Community News St Mirren in the Community are now taking bookings for this summer’s Football Camps. The Camps will run over the upcoming school summer holiday at the club’s exclusive Air dome and at the Lochbarr Leisure Centre in Lochwinnoch. The fun will all kick-off on Monday 3rd July with camps running Monday through to Friday over the six weeks of the school break with camps for 3 to 5 year olds and 6 to 12 year olds. Participants at the Football Camps are required to bring with them suitable indoor clothing and footwear (no metal studs or blades), shin guards and goalkeeper gloves (if appropriate) in addition to a light healthy snack and plenty of water/non-fizzy drinks. We are offering a special 50% discount that would mean a one week place for a 3-5 year-old would only cost £18.75, while 6-12 year-old places would cost just £24.50. To make use of this limited offer your child needs to be a kids season ticket holder and full payment must be made when booking at the St Mirren reception. We have just 10 of these offers available for each of the six weeks of the camps so you'll have to be fast to avoid disappointment. 39 minutes ago, bazil85 said: From my understanding anyone can go to it and it is an open day but as an extra 'thank you' to those that have a season ticket they can get 50% off. Don't see a single thing wrong with that. No different from the 10% off you used to get for buying the new strip or discounts in certain pubs for a pint. If I've missed something saying non season ticket holders will be turned away at the door I apologise but from where I'm looking there's nothing wrong with incentivising season ticket purchases. We won't be the only club doing it. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you're a bit mixed up. As clearly stated the open day is for ST holders only, the football camp is offering a 50% reduction for, wait for it, 10 kids. You have, unbelievably, "missed something" but that's ok, I'm here to help. Now, do you think it's a great idea to exclude many supporters from this "open day" and do you also think offering a massive 10 places at 50% off is a great deal for a community club? PS Tantrum only liked your post because you disagree with me, it's his way, being an auld doddery cnut.

bazil85
Meh I still don't think it's a massive big 'let's start a new thread' deal. A season ticket open day, sounds fine to me. I'm sure the club will do plenty for non season ticket holders. I stand by the mountain over a molehill comment.

What the Club has done for non Season Ticket holders is to say... YOU LOYAL SAINTS FANS ARE NOT WELCOME TO THE ST MIRREN OPEN DAY BUT KEEP COMING TO MATCHES AND PAYING TWENTY FECKING QUID FOR A TICKET. HSS
Maybe our Club could allocate half of the Family Stand to pay on the dayers. It can't be right that they are allowed to sit next to ST holders.

They made an arse of it. Season ticket holders can bring a guest and as many children as they want to what is predominantly a children's event. Great way to promote a benefit of being a season ticket holder without greatly isolating other groups. Guess that settles that. We all know you like a moan Shull but this is just taking the piss. If the club gave all fans £1,000 you'd probably moan if it was in used notes [emoji23][emoji23]

Can we not just have an OPEN day and let anyone who wants to be there entry.Maybe the Club are worried too many people turn up and they don't have enough pens to sign autographs. Or maybe they don't want to admit they were wrong in advertising a closed door open door day.

shull
There is going to be a lot of disappointed St Mirren supporters, especially the children. Absolutely indefensible decision by our Club. What the feck is going on with these outrageous decisions and ludicrous statements.? Paisley brazilians
Last season we got the first home game of the cup an free under 12s .which was a good incentive to purchase a season ticket, this year you have to pay £25 for children and there is an open day for season ticket holders what a load of mince. One of the guys I work with who's a Killie fan was saying they get free season tickets for all under 16s. what's going on hear I'm expecting a full house at the 2021 not a boycott. Callum Gilhooley
It's not often I agree with Shull but on this one I am 100% in agreement . It's a poor decision . Does the fact you are not a season ticket holder make you any less of a fan ? Obviously does as far as the board (or whoever came up with this idea ) are concerned.
