portmahomack saint
Think most of us knew, defensively the team was vulnerable if we came up against a decent team, taking positives from this game, Jack n James will have learned loads about the team. TopCat
Thought 4-1 flattered us in the end. Despite only conceding 1, thought we were much worse second half than first. Offered nothing at all going forward and were still poor defensively.Worth noting that in our 2 games against Premiership opponents this year, we have conceded 9 and scored 1. Despite being well clear at the top of the Championship, we’re clearly a bit off Premiership standard.Another thing that struck me today was Christie and Morgan. Lewis must be looking at Ryan Christie and thinking... if he can’t get near the Celtic first team then... That’s 3 cup failures out of 3 for us this season. Think it’s helping our league form though, so that’s ok. All about winning this daft championship for us now.
Callum Gilhooley
Ach well. That’s it for another year. Well beaten all over the park today by a team who weren’t great but still had too much fight & guile to see us off with some ease. saint in exile
Didn't really expect to take much away from this game, but still disappointed with the performance. Absolute shambles at times. Obviously not as good as some of us thought we were.

JJ McG
Our standard of play and passing in that final third in the 2nd half was absolutely woeful.

Tommy
Painful viewing for most of the game. Well beaten all over the pitch and showed the gap between the 2 leagues. Hopefully that's our bad performance out of the way for the rest of the season
northstbuddie
Don't agree. We have been uncharacteristically poor at the back, and from midfield - McGinn guilty of ball watching and letting Christians ghost in. Yes, we will be punished more by a better team, but I think we have been untypically weak today. You must have watched different games from me. portmahomack saint
Exactly, and that's where you can find where your teams at, no playing Lothian thistle

Deekthebuddie
We had a bit of a stinker. Didn't seem to get into the rhythm of the game and Stelios was far from his best. The penalty and Mackey-Steven goals were fair enough but defence should have done a lot better with regards to the play leading up to both of Christie's goals. Need to dust ourselves down, get on with the Championship
Ronnie
Think a little over the top negativity on here . We were playing 2nd best team in Scotland over last 4 years, on a terrible pitch that takes you about 3 extra touches to control the ball which obviously they are used to, add in we really did gift them every goal. In last 12 months we have lost about 7 matches out of about 40??? An amazing feat which we should be proud of. Glad to just fully concentrate on league from now on hope United and Dunfermline get through in cup (via replays preferably) so they have more games to come. magnus
Very positive comments from the Aberdeen manager and the pundits about the great St Mirren support and nice to see Willy Miller smiling. Well done all travelling Saints fans. Safe home.
Balmullo Bud
Disappointing to say the least. Hopefully no injuries (did notice Morgan limping up the tunnel). We can play much better, but pass marks for Cammy Smith, Davis and the Saints fans that travelled and made a great noise.
