notabuddie
It's an OTT reaction from the club. The worrying thing is that we could be on a championship winning season so they have banned flags and banners until the end of the season maybe the BOD do not have faith in their clubA stupid decision needs a rethink from the club

I ask as you state 'We knew the banner was gonna be on the line'. Was that because you had prior knowledge of what was acceptable or did you come to your own conclusion? No never given guidelines. We were given pretty extensive rules on the drum, that were posted on the official site. As for flags and banners, we go by stadium rules. (Can’t be above a certain height etc) We try to apply common sense when it comes to content. “This love will last forever” was from a courteeners song. “ “This is our home, this is our fortress” we came up with ourselvess. Same with “The Fight Is On” “The Saints are coming” - Green Day / U2 - + a nod to our promotion bid As for the Morton ones - previously we’ve had “hopeless and soapless” Then of course “Morton scum, trophyless since 1922”, with images of our trophies behind it Personally don’t think we’ve ever been offensive. As a rule of thumb, we wouldn’t swear on a banner, scum seemed like fair game as it’s just dirty stuff floating on liquid - which reminds us of Greenock.... 100% meant as banter. But yeah, not everyone seen it that way

Doakes
So how do we get off with posting pictures of a morton mascot being hanged in an official club magazine? I could name various other times we’ve had a joke about our rivals in an “official” capacity The double standards are ridiculous. If we’re gonna adopt a dictators approach to our ground and the rules, even when it comes to a derby, the game really is over Edited November 22, 2017 by Doakes

This is going round in circles, an errors been made, not a hanging offence and I'd hope some acknowledgement from the club, whoever made the decision, that everyone has learned a lesson and move on. It’s literally the same teams and the same humour. Are we really at the stage in where you can’t make a joke? But yeah, not everyone seen it that way Thanks for the clarification. Things have changed from 2011 and will continue to change. When I started going to games fans threw bricks and glass bottles full of piss at each other. Sectarian and racial chanting was commonplace as was chanting about sexuality. Thank goodness things change. The SPFL have guidelines and possible action for a breach of unacceptable behaviour and the Club could be reprimanded because it failed to take action. No-one has been removed, banned or referred to the police. W7 people can still attend, bang a drum and sing to their hearts' content. All that has happened is a ban on banners. A written apology may help move things on.
Undertaker
The Panda Group are more grown up and sing louder than W7. Even every away support drown out W7, and that is sometimes with about 10 fans singing. W7 boys would be better moving to the Family Stand where the acoustics seem to be better and the Panda Children would help them out. From the Main Stand, I can only hear noise from the South & North Stands. Maybe loud halers needed in W7.

We actually went and asked on the Morton fans page on Facebook if anyone was insulted - no one said they were. Think the only ones “insulted” are our a small minority of our own fans. We would know if the SPFL or Morton had complained. If this is the worst you get in 2017, you’re right in your assessment that things have improved. But if you want an environment where even banter becomes unacceptable, the atmosphere in fitba grounds will go rapidly downhill. Have a look at the PL down south. Soulless.
