cambiebud
Sanchez is reportedly going to be on £500k a week at Man Utd! Think about that......£26 million pounds a year. How can those sort of wages possibly be sustainable? Van Dijk is reportedly on £225k a week at Liverpool. ETA Naismith on loan at Hearts is reported to be on £50 k a week at Norwich ffs! Shull is right, the beautiful game is being ruined. In the press recently it was reported that a Chelsea youngster bought a house for over £2million. This is a boy who has never been anywhere near the 1st team.

I heard quite a bit below that, depends what rag you read but it's an eternal moan. They pay what they pay because they coin it in from numerous sources and Sanches will bring in additional cash in other ways.

What is clear is that Man U's manager is nowhere near as good as they make out for all his past exploits. Fergie went in and transformed the club from bottom to top. In that order. At best Mourinho is lazy. At worst he's a fraud. Given the size of this club and it's reach it's absolutely astounding that they cannot develop players to fill the voids. That and the fact he's basically admitted he was useless when signing Mkhitaryan on a mega deal only to swap him for another player.

faraway saint
Man United, again, named as the richest team in the world. Maybe that's why they can pay enormous wages.
Guest TPAFKATS
Man United, again, named as the richest team in the world. Maybe that's why they can pay enormous wages. Are they still built on that mountain if debt from when the Glazers bought the club by taking out loans against the club? There's a certain madness to that - could be mad genius? DougJamie
Lets put this into context Man Utd are arguably the biggest Brand in the World................... they are worth Billions. They play to 75000 every home game They are way behind Man City so need to show intent So they need players of World Class pedigree On the other hand Sevco, had Pena on 35k a week, Alves on 28k a week and have a larger wage bill than Celtic. Lets not forget McCoist was 800k salary when in League 4.... So Man Utd can afford it. They don't need Sky Money. They don't need Champions league money. They just need relative success............ Its the other 15 or so teams in the Premiership that are short term opportunists that will all be Blackburns and Boltons of the future ( Oh and Sevco)
