League Cup

Maybe not the format everybody would like but better than pre-season friendlies.  Killie away on the second worst pitch in the country is tough but the rest is doable.
3 midweek games in 11 days slap bang in middle of school holidays.

1 Saturday home game against a team who 99% of Saints fans hated watching over the last 3 years.

The new format is terrible and the fans don't like it.

Safe to say I won't be at any of these matches.

It's hardly inspiring Ronnie,  that I agree. And you are right,  the games come thick and fast during a holiday period.

Having said that -.preferable to friendlies -no?

Being picky... I would have preferred Thistle to Kilmarnock.

Dumbarton are not box office.

It looks like I'm in the minority - but I quite like the new league cup setup.

I can't be bothered with friendlies and much prefer these (arguably) lower profile competitive games to get the team into gear for the season.

I agree it's not exactly box office, but its the luck of the draw and we know we won't get any of the 'big guns' as the two closest to us are always in Europe and the rest of the most successful teams play in the other section.

The powers that be had to try something and I think this is a decent stab at a more entertaining solution - with decent TV coverage as well.
