About Kenny McLean
Born on 8th Jan 1992, Kenny spent the first part of his career with the buddies on loan at Arbroath during season 09-20, making 15 starts for the Angus side and scoring one goal during his time at Gayfield.
The talented midfielder with a terrific left foot then worked his way into the first team squad for season 2010-2011 after impressing new manager Danny Lennon in pre-season.
Kenny made his first team debut coming off the bench on October 16th 2010 as Saints fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Hamilton at St.Mirren Park and did sufficiently well enough to earn his first full start a week later at Tynecastle as Saints went down 0-3 to Hearts.
In recognition of his excellent form, the club rewarded Kenny with a new 3 year extension which he penned at the end of October 2010 and which keeps him at the club until the summer of 2014 at least.
A brilliant performance as a substitute in a Scottish Cup Quarter Final with Aberdeen in March 2011 saw McLean really hit the headlines, and his reward for that came just two weeks later as he was called up to the Scotland Under-21 side to play Belgium.
