Aberdeen Preview
Saints and Aberdeen go head to head in the high noon ESPN SPL clash tomorrow with both sides knowing that a win is vital if they are to retain any realistic ambitions of securing a place in the coveted top six after the SPL split.
The buddies don't have their problems to seek at the moment as the injury and suspension list continues to grow. Jeroen Tesselaar is the latest to join the casualty list with his knee injury expected to keep him on the sidelines for at least 4-6 weeks.
Tess joins Darren McGregor, Hugh Murray and Kenny McLean on the buddies sicklist and top scorer Steven Thompson again misses out tomorrow as he completes his suspension.
To add further to the woes of Danny Lennon both Dougie Imrie and Paul McGowan will miss next weeks trip to Hibernian as they have both now breached the six yellow card barrier which merits an automatic one game suspension.
Back to this weeks match however and Aaron Mooy has returned injury free from his trip to the UAE in midweek where he turned out for the Socceroos in an ultimately unsuccessful Olympic qualifer, the Aussie youngsters going down 1-0 against the home side and missing out on a chance to appear in the games which take place later in the year.

Saints results of late have been steady if unspectacular with successive score-less draws against Inverness, Motherwell and Dundee Utd highlighting the improvements made in our defensive unit if also at the same time demonstrating the alarming lack of goals which has cost us dearly in a season which promised so much in the early months.
The buddies have fared pretty well against the Dons so far this term, winning by a Nigel Hasselbaink goal to nil in Paisley back in August before recovering from a two goal defecit in Aberdeen in early December to record a creditable share of the spoils.
The Reds have also found goals difficult to come by and both sides have recorded more goal-less draws that any other in the SPL this term.
David Van Zanten looks a sure bet to come in at right back with David Barron moving over to the left side to replace the injured Tesselaar whilst I have a sneaking suspicion that Aaron Mooy could get a start alongside Dougie Imrie in attack, with McGowan dropping back into midfield.

Divs Prediction
It really is last chance saloon for us tomorrow with regard any ambition we have for the top six, but putting that aside it is absolutely vital that we win anyway in order to continue to distance ourselves from the bottom two.
Aberdeen have a honking record at the new ground and have a workmanlike side that carries little of the quality of Dons sides that we have seen in the past. They are a dogged unit, not unlike ourselves to be fair, and I really can't see this one being a classic. I'm going to go for a 1-0 win for Saints though, and finally it's going to be a Dougie Imrie goal !

Matts dad
That's ancient - everybody had a good vent about it at the time.
He won't be fit until Late April at the earliest!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!
When will we ever learn?
Even my grandson's team know that after scoring a goal you must defend for your life and that will settle the game down in your favour.
Has Danny ever mentioned that to the team
If we finish the league season in our current position it will be our be our highest placing in scottish football for OVER 20 YEARS.Possibly your definition of a generation and mine are slightly different. We are also still in the Scottish cup, 90 minutes away from a hampden semi final. Like i say the glass can be half full or half empty, I still think given our recent history it's a pretty good time to be a St Mirren fan, and think the most constructive way to make it even better is get right behind the team and help them push on even further.
I get what your saying Nick and yes we are a good team at the moment. I also understand what Scott is saying because I was at the 87 cup final and that was an awesome team.
Hopefully next season will be even better for us and remember we are only 5 points away from 6th place in the league this season!
