Aberdeen 0 St.Mirren 0

Written by B&W Army Webteam.

Saints and Aberdeen slugged out yet another goal-less draw at Pittodrie yesterday, with both sides and both sets of fans left frustrated by a rutted pitch that put paid to any sort of entertaining football.

Danny Lennon made three changes to the side that had won it's previous three encounters, sparking a fair bit of bemusement amongst the fans it has to be said.

Paul Dummett came in for Graham Carey with the latter having been in arguably his best form of the season whilst David Barron replaced David Van Zanten at right back, robbing the Irishman of his 300th appearance in the stripes. Barking.

Jon McGinn was rested after his midweek appearance for Scotland, with Kenny McLean returning in his place.

It was a pretty uneventful match to be fair so I'll leave you with the "highlights" which really only feature a couple of smart saves from either goalkeeper and a pretty bad miss by the loan king with 5 mins to go. He is human after all it seems.

Onwards and upwards, it's two defeats in fourteen and Saints sit just 8 points off second place in the SPL with a cup final and a cup quarter final to look forward to.

So rare in today's football world to come accross a player who puts his club before his bank account.
Steven Thompson.
Now go and score the winner against Hearts on the 17th of March, and cement your legendary status.

yes, i agree with previous comment good to see thompson with us for next season and perhaps the following depending on what the small print detail and the clauses may be and he did take a while to find his feet last season but his goal return last season was good and his overall play and goal return this season has been excellent and lets hope he bags or setsup goals against hibs this afternoon as their form has been poor recently and it doesnt really matter who scores as long as we get 3points. CMON THE SAINTS

Once again we lose to Hibs.
It was a poor game and no team deserved to win though I do think we did not do ourselves proud as it was one of our worst performances
Why does our captain keep giving away penalties in such crucial games and especially on Saturday against the wee (es ach one tea) Griffiths !
We seemed to have no shape.
Danny has a lot of work to do this week to prepare the team for St Johnstone next Saturday.
Once again we are below our expectations and if it were not for Dundee I would be thinking of 1st division next season.!
We surely are better that being in the bottom 3 !

Let's get THIS straight.......We were crap and Fenlon (all credit to him) stood on the touchline for the WHOLE game and almost kicked every ball and organised Hibs every step of the way. Where was Lennon ? i saw him about three times coming out with his hands in his pockets as usual. We can do better than that and Hibs controlled what was a poor game. i lost count of the times we had the ball and they tackled it from us with ease. They seemed to pass at will from one side to the other and right from the start they totally shut out Goncalves. It proves that no one in this league is a one man team and he is not a one trick pony. We never gave him any support yesterday at all.

Sandra............ you and I have pointed out more than once that opposing managers are out on the touch line organising their teams whilst Danny seems to be happy to sit back and watch and not get too involvrd in encouraging the team, changing tactics or pushing them on to bigger and better things.
Yes he does it some times but when we are having a bad day he is nowhere to be seen and does not appear to be an inspiration to the team.
What was obvious on Saturady was the fact that we had nobody penetrating down the wings and how much the team depends on Teale and his movement on the wings.
For some reason we were also second to too many balls and seemed to give up possession far too easily.
If Saturday will turn out to be a lesson then fine as I do not want to watch displays like that too often.
