Saints Beaver Invasion !
The club continue to do some fantastic work with the local community, engaging with groups all across Renfrewshire and beyond in a whole variety of initiatives.
One such example of this has been the recent Grass Roots scheme which is open to any local youth groups, allowing up to 30 kids to attend a Saints home match completely free of charge (For more information please contact Community Coach, Steven Sweeney on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Fans attending this weekends crunch game with Dundee at St.Mirren Park will also see more tangible evidence of this sterling work as over 100 local Beavers from the Paisley and District group will be attending and roaring on the buddies from the family stand.

Speaking about the trip leader Jill Brooks commented;
"Following on from the successful visit to Saint Mirren Park last year with 120 Beaver Scouts, (and a win) we decided to try and return again this year.
I contacted the club and they were more than happy to accommodate Paisley and District Beavers again to create some noise.
Saints are a family orientated club so hopefully some of the Beavers will return in the future with their parents.
The club have been very helpful with accommodating us within the family stand, so I would like to thank the staff at the ticket office for ensuring we were all together.
This is a great opportunity for both the club and the local scout movement to build up a positive partnership and support the community.
Thanks to all at the club who helped this visit be possible again. We are very grateful."

Good work, again, from those at the club who seldom get the recognition they deserve for their efforts !

Anything to shy away from making an investment in the team and facing the fact that we need to strengthen the pool of players
If the directors do not see where their priorities lie then we are in deep trouble.
If we continue as we are there will be NO Saint Mirren in a few years and they can then open the doors to any "Tom, Dick or Harry" as they will be the best club in the Junior divisions.
Do the directors really believe that their current actions are going to help Saint Mirren to survive and to encourage supporters through the turnstiles.
Start winning games on a regular basis and then you will see increases in the support.
Fans like to follow a winning team !!
And we sure are not that right now.
My wee nephew is going along as part of this group and is really looking forward to it.
Can't believe the negative posts that St Mirren fans can post on a positive story.
We really do have some bitter and miserable supporters in our ranks. Disappointing but after almost 30 years of going to saints games it really doesn't surprise me.
To encourage children to come and support their local team we need a team that wins and with the skinflint attitude of the board and the sometimes suspect tactics of our manager that is not happening.
Remember that if we are to pay money every week we want to be entertained and not to walk out after each game with "long faces" bemoaning another defeat.
"Points" do not only make prizes they also put "bums on seats"
Yes, it appears that six defeats on the bounce have the knicker wetters in full flow and quite happy to forget the monumental achievements listed above.
Utterly shameful.
The team will turn it around im confident :) we have a team with experience, quality, young talent coming through. Lets hope it starts this weekend. COYS
.
The playing side has been badly neglected ?
Yet we still achieved our highest league finish in over 30 years last season and are in the semi-finals of one of the domestic cups this time round.
We have players competing in the Scotland youth setups at every level from u-21 down the way.
The fact is we have lost a few games, and all the toys are being thrown out of the pram by some of our "supporters".
"I'm St.Mirren till we lose a few games" it seems.
Yes we are on a bad run but now is the time to unite & get everyone behind the team. Let's sing our hearts out tomorrow & help us get a much needed win. SMTWD
Beggars belief the thinking behind some of these, almost moronic, posts.
Hope my wee nephew witnesses a great game and the kids enjoy their match day experience.
Keep up the good work St Mirren.
