That is patent drivel. Even experienced pros who have played under him have signed extensions/stayed when they had other options. Have you conveniently forgotten about Thompson, Teale, Goodwin and McGowan. ETA: and Conor Newton returned for a further period....

How do you know what Danny has been doing regarding bringing in players? Do you work beside him and Tommy on a daily basis? The talk has been about this young Newcastle player who is so good he is going to Carlisle and not even the Championship. For all we know he has approached players who have turned him down and why would he advertise that if it was the case? As for being a laughing stock, where do you get that view from? I frequent Pie and Bovril and have seen no reference to us being a laughing stock - relegation material from some but most other fans are more worried about their own club and performance than worrying about us. I wonder what some would say if Danny has rushed players in to appease the fans and they ended up not doing the job he thought they would have done. He would have been crucified by many for not taking his time and bringing in the right players etc. Perhaps the right approach is what he is doing by waiting to see who is still available and without a club whereby his he has the upper hand. The season has just kicked off and still a few weeks of transfer market to work in so no need for panic buys but patience to bring the right people in if they are available and willing to come to us. Danny and Tommy are not stupid men and will know the weaknesses in our team and will be trying to resolve it through what we have or, should the board provide the funding, bring others in.

Not long back from what was a fantastic couple of days Some thoughts (in no particular order) All the Londoners we met were friendly and helpful The Met could teach a few forces around the country on how to police events properly We have got a fantastic support Trafalgar Square has never looked so good The vast majority of England fans are top notch The transportation links down there are second to none Wembley never fails to impress Brent is a bit of a dump Joe Hart is pish Kyle Walker is a thug James Morrison is going to be a big star We're better going forward than back Strachan has rejuvenated the team England rely too much on pace Kenny Miller looks like my mate Derek Leicester Saint doesn't get invited to parties

They can talk to the cows come home in this country about footballing skills, keeping fans dry, developing young players and having family sections etc but the bottom line is that if the game is too dear then people will vote with their wallets/purses. Without sounding like Shull (a good guy though) we seriously need to consider how we make the game more affordable and get bums on seats. People go to the cinema and watch a movie, eat their sweets, popcorn etc and get a bus home for less than a football game. I know it is chalk and cheese but it is still all about entertainment and value for money. Charging £20 or more means that those living on the breadline or struggling to make ends meet will not go to an expensive game when the £40 that may be charged for a Dad and boy would feed the family for a week or pay for something else. Time to have a look at what the Germans and other Europeans charge for watching their sport and which is generally of a much higher standard.

Just had a look at Newcastles first home game and it's cheaper for a parent and child to go watch them than County which is a nonsense. Top class stadium and decent quality football. Away fan prices One adult + one child at County = £34 Same for Newcastle = £32 Home fans at Newcastle have a family section which is £25 parent & child. Edit - not just county I'm having a go at, most of SPL is the same.

First time in 27 years I HAVE bought a season ticket - £300 for me plus a free season ticket for each of my kids. Well done St.Mirren, great bit of commercial savvy. My youngest will be making her debut so hopefully she'll bring a bucket-load of beginners luck. COYS!

Inevitable, following the failure of the takeover bid(s). My opinion is that the role of commercial director is one that needs filled, urgently. Where are we now? Campbell doing his usual stuff and AWP doing the non-playing kit merchandise? Interesting to see if an appointment is made. My money is on no-one being appointed.

Do you remember the season after our previous cup win. Thankfully the current custodians still do and are not repeating the spending splurge that followed that. All this "shame on you" stuff is total shite. Do you honestly think that Lennon and the board are not attempting to get players in. There is not much we can do if players don't want to come to us or they are outwith our budget. Most on here are starting to sound like they couldn't care less WHO we sign as long as we sign someone. Personally I'm much happier to wait for the right player and the price always drops the closer to the close of the window we get.

TBH if you're on the breadline I'd suggest travelling to Dingwall for a football match would be way down your list of priorities. Having said that, £24 is just plain stupid.

I think I'd rather give the younger players like Brady and Reilly a chance before not-very-good strikers like Barrowman. Obviously it'd be good to bring in someone decent, but if we're talking about players as good as Andrew Barrowman, I'd rather we saved our money for now and tried to bring in a more experienced striker in January.

This close season is turning into a bit of a Jackie Brambles. Wee Danny boy better have someone lined up to sign before Saturday as we are going to struggle big time. I also worry about Thompson's morale if we don't provide him with a decent strike partner - he's already come out publicly and said he needs back up and the longer this saga goes on the more disenchanted he's going to feel. Get it sorted!

I don't know about not good enough. But you're right he not a target man or someone with pace for an out ball. He's an attacking midfield player. We should have had 2 forwards in by now. Poor show

We're not a laughing stock because this loan deal fell through. It does however seem to dilute the 'Newcastle - St Mirren loanee feelgood factor' though. The success of Dummet and Newton's development had me thinking Newcastle would send Campbell here too. Now we'll see if the club have had a Plan B in the background, or if they're now thinking 'Shite, what do we do now?'.

Dropping a few coins in a glass of Coke (other brands of cola are available) has the same effect. The beauty is, you can just leave them there, so this is the ideal option for lazy buggers. Go back a day or two later, and BINGO!, you have nice, shiny one and two pence coins that you'll never use in any event, but that'll look great as you feed the CoinStar machine at the supermarket. Be the envy of your fellow shoopers! ETA: it does make you wonder what Coke does to your insides....

Entirely up to the clubs. That's why I didn't go to Inverness. .. They wanted £37 for me and the lad (who is 15). We went to Firhill instead and it cost £20 for us both as under 16's are free. THAT is sensible pricing... we're going back this Friday too.

    Dragons Den 2013

I watched the first one of the new series and it was thoroughly enjoyable. The last few years it had become stale but with the introduction of two new dragons it has certainly improved. Although, could do without watching would be entrepreneurs going up and down in the Lift to and from the Den. Waste of bloody good viewing time.

    I appreciate that the state of Trafalgar Square could have been less. when I walked through Trafalgar Square 4-5pm, there was plenty rubbish strewn all over the place but who is daft enough not to think that that wasn't going to happen. Westminster Council knew the Tartan Army was coming down the road and I expect that they will have suspected their "no alcohol" policy was not going to be enforced. With that, litter was going to be produced. Fairy Liquid & bathing in the fountains, come back 17th March when the Irish {& fake irish & hangers on} take the place over. what else went on, I did see 1 fella get a head injury when he fell at the foot of Nelsons Column, there was claret everywhere where he gashed his head on the stone. The police were attending to him {I assume an ambulance was called} Other than that, I seen the police engage with punters, in the Trafalgar Square, down the Strand & in the streets between StMitF & Covent Garden, all laughs, smiles and friendly banter. Got the Metropolitan line up to Wembley, both sets of fans travelling happily together, which led to 3 nine year olds noising me up by singing GSTQ, which promted singing between both sets of fans in what was more like a sing off between them. Cracking stuff. I was in the England end, leapt out of my seat when Scotland scored the first, arsenal fan behind, throttled me {jokingly} when I sat down again. When we scored the second, when I sat down, the guy behind's hand appeared in front of me, holding a hip flask...would be rude not to accept. After the match, we jumped into Macdonalds beside Wembley Park Tube and waiting for the crowd to go, both sets of fans, mingling contentedly as it was on the way up & down Wembley Way. I never seen any vandalism & am wondering whether Leicester was at the same match? It's not only the TA that has descended upon Trafalgar Square for a day & left rubbish behind, last Christmas, Santathon seen something 3000 Santa's in the Square, they left rubbish behind {not on the magnitude of the TA but the same issue}

I'd be delighted if St Mirren Park was awarded the CL Final. One set of fans could have Dunn Sq and Gilmour St,the other could have the Fountain Gardens. They could leave as many empties as they wanted and turn the River Cart green and blue if they wanted.Paisley,as a Town, would welcome the "vandalism" and the money that comes with it.

Guys like Paul Lambert and Steve Clarke were thrown into the first team at the start of league campaigns as teenagers. They did okay... John McGinn was thrown in mid season without playing in a "less meaningful game". He did okay as well. If they are good enough then throw them straight in! If they aren't good enough then playing them in "less meaningful games" won't make much difference!

Have you seen Brady and Reilly play much at all? If not then what puts you in a position to say that you'd like to see them given a chance? Surely they should only be given a chance if they are good enough? If they aren't good enough then why should they be given a chance?

Would like to say all above to be true. But if the rumour is to be true we are interested in Barrowman then i think we are entering the panic buy stage. Also shopping in the bargin bin as well I think they have misjudged the situation with our own youngsters thinking some of them would be ready. When as the friendlies shown they aren't there yet.
