    Jack Ross Must Go.

My opinion is if Jack had his squad that he signed in January from the start of the season we would be championship winning contenders right now.

I hold my hand up to doubting the wisdom of even swapping him over to right back. Clearly, my judgement was unreasonable, premature, and has since been proven to be utter pish. I'm happy to acknowledge this, and concede that it is a lesson learned

WE’RE ON OUR WAY Feck knows where were going but the whole of Dumfries was bouncing yesterday as the more confident supporters in our mist suggested a return to the Premier League was on the cards. It was a cracking day out. The respectable number of St Mirren fans who arrived on the two coach train from Glasgow at midday day joined the car and busloads of supporters who had obviously decided to make a day of it. Robert the Bruce supplied burgers, chips and a pint for £5.45, catering for us thrifty Paisley Buds and once lunch was sorted we were on our way to the ground via various pubs. The Queens fans although scarce were very welcoming and the banter was good. The four pubs at the ground were heaving and the Spread Eagle was bouncing as the North Bank and its Drummer boys gave it Laldy. Lots of us couldn’t get in because it was jam packed meaning we had to visit the other three pubs. Again the Queens Fans took the invasion in their stride and we had a few laughs with them. The North Bank played their part and the first half was a little bit jittery. Baird and McKenzie rode their luck and I worried a few times that O’Brien might just be too wee for a goalie but between them and the Post (How’s that for balls – clear the lines by hitting the ba aff yir ain Post) they kept a clean sheet. Wee Stevie Mallon produced his magic and that was it We were on our way. Mobile phones were waving everywhere. I assume it wasn’t some periscope protest but the fact that for the first time in who knows how long we were on our way up the table. The ‘As it Stands’ league table had us above Ayr Utd in Ninth and we were on our way and we had to show it. “WE’RE ON OUR WAY” reverberated around the North Bank for a solid 25mins non-stop but sadly despite the win, we’re still tenth. The main thing is that we’re still in it and we’re still fighting. Feck knows how it will all turn out but this Saturday “WE’RE ON OUR WAY” to another cup final. So COME ON YE SAINTS. Get your tickets, get your Displays sorted, get your drums out, get your singing voices tuned and get on you’re way to Fir Park. WE’RE IN THE FINAL. WE’RE GONNAE WIN THE CUP, WE’RE ON OUR WAY COYS

Although we are in a dire situation can honestly write I am enjoying the football we are playing under Jack Ross. There is a team trying hard to fight for the cause something for me not seen for a long time a feeling we have something special an air of positivity, go into games where I feel we can win this game. Not experienced that feeling for many years. So well done Jack Ross and the team. Lastly would love to see this thread binned the title of the thread is very poor considering what we are seeing on the pitch.

I think it's only right that G Irvine should be applauded for his recent performances, he's took some amount of stick on here while being played out of position but since being switched back to his more natural RB slot he's put in some top class performances and it also gives the back 4 a far better ballance....Well done Gary..

So Farewell Then the Ogilvie Club

Has to be 67, 68 OR 69. I remember sitting, drinking - at a window under the Coffin End looking towards Well Street- playing dominoes at dinner times with workmates from Rootes/Chrysler. Pie and a pint and a game of Doms... followed by a quiet afternoon working... Life was simpler then...

I agree with all of that except the binning of this thread. It should be kept at least until the OP has admitted he was wrong which, of course, there is no chance of happening until we are safe.

A massive thanks to everyone who turned up (despite the heavy rain) today in Erskine and supported the St Mirren Fans Squad against M**ton Fans.. Plenty of money was raised in aid of Cancer Research and we even managed to hammer the "mighty" Ton 4-0. Cheers to Hugh McMillan (photos below) & Allan Picken for taking photos of today's game and a huge thank you to the volunteers (Zoe, Amy, Kiara etc) who went around selling programmes and raffle tickets for the charity. #COYS

Club Shop caravan at Fir Park?

Surely some kind fellow Saints fan could pop down the club shop for you and get the flag & scarf and meet you on Saturday. I would do it no problem but unfortunately going on Holiday on Wednesday and missing the cup final.

Since the end of January we are the form team in the division. This supports the theory that we would be challenging for the title had we started the season with the squad we have now. Only since January has Jack had an 'increase in budget', after all...

I have a ST in the main stand so it doesn't really affect me but I've never really understood putting the away fans in the West stand, does it really save much money not opening the away stand compared to putting the segregation in place and having extra stewards next to the away fans etc. Get the away fans in the away end and fill the corner of the west stand with free tickets for kids if necessary.

Well we've got the form team in the league (us) playing against the team currently worst (them) so I guess there can only be one result. http://www.statto.com/football/stats/scotland/championship/2016-2017/form-table Anyone wanna buy a ticket?

Simple, Utd have twice the support than us so get more tickets. We are struggling to sell what we have so it would be pointless having more tickets than we can sell.

    Paying for the SFA salaries...

Evils shouldn't be ignored, pod. Until the most recent encounter, I'd been to EVERY game that Scotland played south of the border since 1969. I'd been trying to wean myself off it - and off of financially supporting the corrupt cabal running Scottish fitba. I now think I've achieved that. I won't go. I just won't subsidise them any more. It has to change and be more accountable to the people who pay the entry fees. (I see you quote Skidmark. That no-mark disnae go to Scotland games or more especially to St Mirren games, unless they're against his beloved sevco, so his opinion is irrelevant and he won't be even scratching his nose, whatever...) The SFA disnae spend enough on grass roots fitba - and making it free and easily accessible to all kids. Even though Saints have reached the final of this diddy cup, and being in the final has changed perceptions, it was still remains a nonsense diddy cup. Winning ten of them won't be as important as avoiding a single relegation. Saints don't need distractions like that, right now.

I did wonder this myself as Fir Parks capacity is 13742, though no doubt it's something to do with the amount of tickets the sponsors get.

    Jack Ross Must Go.

I'm just repeating posts I made when AR was sacked. Why was he sacked? Cause we were bottom. What was the new managers objective? Get us off bottom. Simple really. And not too hard either. We were what, (from memory) 4 points off bottom when we changed manager. And we were chasing clubs with a fraction of the budget of ourselves. Teams like Ayr and Dumbarton simply couldn't get players like Loy, McGinn and Smith. Their budget doesn't stretch that far, ours does. Yet despite this... they're all still ahead of us. Despite all these favouring factors, we are still 10th. Still 10th and we've played a game more than 9th. As i said when AR was sacked. The new manager (whoever he is) should be given a contract to the end of the season. If he keeps us up he should get the summer to build his own team. If he takes us down he should be sacked. Nothing to add.

United play Ayr a few days after the final. If the cup final is level with a few minutes to go I suggest we let United win to ensure they are nice and fresh for the game against Ayr
