In case no one has noticed we have played Livi twice (some of it with ten men)... 2 wins, 6 goals scored, 2 goals conceded.6 points. We have played United 3 times .. 2 wins, 1 defeat 6 goals scored, 2 conceded and 6 points. So I think we managed fine without Mark Hill. He has never started a game for celtic and has played 2 minutes in the championship is 19 years old and some of you think he is going to start in a team that has not lost a game since December 2nd! Really? Its time for experience so I will choose from McGinn, McShane, Flynn and Magennis for the engine room with Hill on the bench as backup. Where I do agree is the game on Saturday will be a battle, but so were the previos two games against them.

FFS what is this thread turning into!! They will kick us off the park, we don't have enough height, we are not strong enough, we should change a winning team and now the pitch isn't in our favour!!! Thankfully no one on this thread will be doing the team talk on Saturday Livingston are big, strong well organised and seem to have team spirit. But they do not have players anywhere near the quality of St Mirren! This team is on a run that few supporters will EVER have seen. Have a bit of confidence FFS

I have no desire for this site to become some sort of BAWA glee club , but surely the Mods must do more to keep those who are simply trolls and mischief makers at bay. Getting to be a haven for those who seem hell bent on just causing mayhem and unrest. I’m all for debate and difference of opinion but some of those on here seem hell bent on mischief making or seem simply to set out to agitate (shit stir )

So we have a midfield of McGinn and McShane. McGinn has started every League game this season. McShane has started in all bar one when he was rested and Magennis was brought in but even then he came on as a sub. This is the midfield that has taken us to 14 points clear including beating Livi twice - once with 10 men. But some are suggesting that one of them is dropped for Hill - an inexperienced guy who has never played a full League game in his life? I am glad Jack is the manager.

Someone else who wants to change a team that hasn't lost since December2!! I'm assuming you drop the experience of McShane or Flynn for Hippolyte which is not going to happen. What it does show is how well Jack did in the January window when you look at what is on the bench. Much more strength in depth.

I don’t think that this game will be as close as many think. I think Saints will send a very clear message to the chasing pack with a comfortable victory. Livingston 1-4 St Mirren

melmac you sure they need to be approved by GLS? It's certainly going something very close to that way. "What does Gordon think..." hangs over a lot of the discussion. Again, a majority will not care and in theory it does allow for issues to be covered. Thing is, the majority of club related items come from the club or are directed to SMISA by the club. It's the community stuff that, in my view anyway, should be for SMISA to run with as they're a Community Benefit Society and have a duty to the wider community (something a lot of members don't understand). If SMISA were Friends of Hearts it'd be different, but they're not. Prime example is the Glenvale option, with the club statement being wrong on numerous levels. Your view of the option aside, the club publicly trying to steer a SMISA voting option is wrong. But, of course, you also have the view that it's just part of the democratic process. Some members have recently left because they feel SMISA should do what Gordon wants, when he wants and how he wants. So, there's plenty of opinion either way. SMISA could easily evolve away from being a CBS, but then again they could put a community work donation programme together and run community options from that (at least then you see the will to do so).

First paragraph - just plain funny The Rest - telling everyone what they already know. Covert FC spies ffs... who ever alluded to that? There are, as is their right FC members working/advising with smisa. Theres nothing covert about st mirren fans getting involved in their club! But in saying that you are right about 'Some' people creating a drama.

I would like us to try Magennis and McGinn as holding midfielder and Smith , Hippolyte and Morgan playing behind Reilly , think the pace of that front four would create problems for Livvy

Ha ha, I can’t deny I’m bricking myself until we have that title. yesterday’s result helped a bit as it has basically finished Dunfermline, we win on Saturday and we can absolutely forget Livingston, my fear is we get beat Saturday which would give Them a wee bit of hope and then Dundee Utd get their tails up. All if’s and but’s I know, point being if they start putting the boot in on Saturday? We don’t want any key guys injured going into the business end of the season.

If your a wind up merchant (which you are) then I guess you will see Hoof's meltdown as a victory. So your probably quite happy with it. There's definitely a lot worse stuff posted on the Internet. Though if we stop posting in it and post in others it will go away.

I was thinking this too. I think games like this and Tannadice is what he has been brought in for to give that bit of steel to the midfield. Also we don't have a great deal of height and dig in the team that Livi seem to base their whole team on.

Good result for us and the bonus of their player missing next week due to the red card. New strikers Hardie and Miller both got subs and stats say the Pars were all over them and should have won/

I also know a few who have joined since. The very nature of a membership scheme is some will leave , some will join. People are entitled to leave and need offer reasons to no one. Their money , their choice ... if anyone finds a better use for their cash or another thing to occupy their time thats their call. At the end on the day we still have 1200 committed Buds who still want to be part of this. COYS

Only the fans who are members of SMISA will own the club Paul. At the moment, those members are part-owners via their SMISA membership and the majority owner is of course Gordon. There is no current plan for when SMISA take full ownership, though I'd imagine a board will be put in place to run the club with SMISA still having their own committee. Aside from the £2, I suppose a fan can be as involved as they like so long as as he/she pays at least £144 a year.

    I'm Listening To....

Saw them in Fat Sam's in Dundee early 90s. Was a really good gig and had a pint with them after it. They were top lads and well into their footie. Think at least 2 of them were Tranmere fanatics?? Remember they were 'record of the week' on Radio 1 shortly after I saw them. Raid the Palace. Good live band. Enjoy your gig Bud.

Probably our biggest problem next week will be the terrible pitch. Imo the worst performance's we have had in last 12 months or so has been on similarly terrible pitches (Kirkcaldy & Aberdeen). As for the Red Card that was a shocker of a challenge can't believe Hopkin and one of his background team had a go at the ref.

Fair point, we are close now and today’s result helped us a bit, I just think that the Livingston & Utd games could get quite dirty and young Hill may be the boy just to break that up and allow us to do what we do best. However if I’m thinking this I’m sure Jack and James will be too !!

Can see a saints travelling support up around the 1,500 mark. Should be a great atmosphere in the away end in what I recall being a very smart stadium. We are marching towards the title in a truly memorable season. We could well win this title with about 6 or more games to go if we keep this up as I can't Jack and team taking the foot of the gas. This will be a tough test but think we might just edge it 2:1.

Every game involving Livingston is bruising. It's how they play. And since none of these teams will be anywhere near our points total at the end of the season the result is irrelevant.

    Jack Ross Must Go.

I was measured on Jack from the off... i.e. I made no comments and was not sure either way at first... but was marginally hopeful since he only had to be average and he would be a great improvement on the previous 4 years... but I was one of the 1st to shout get rid of Murray and I could not believe how long he got to put us further in the mire. Happy Days now though - best in a very long time. I just hope we can really make the step up with some ongoing confidence of avoiding play-offs and eventually top 6 regularly... with the usual cup wins thrown in every 2 or 3 decades...or better..

Sort out the multiple committee muddle that fronts up our game, make it a single board, get a national manager and give him or her or transitional gender neutral a five year contract, blood the youth and get on with it. This national team is still playing second fiddle to the glasgow clubs pissing contest. Scottish football in its current guise is tiresome and pointless.
