  1. I think so too. We've had a rest and they've already used one of their games in hand and dropped points, a win on Saturday leaves them to fight it out for the play off positions. We have only one focus now... keep winning and we can't be caught no matter what, i think that's the mentality everyone at the club has just now.

  2. I don’t think that this game will be as close as many think. I think Saints will send a very clear message to the chasing pack with a comfortable victory. Livingston 1-4 St Mirren

  3. I think that question should be directed to SMISA . Kenny is no longer a committee member or indeed a SMISA member.

  5. You can see just after a few posts here that what people's understanding of what SMISA is, what it is bound to do, and how that should be independent of the club, whilst being intrinsically linked in general aims and goal is at best, muddled. i think a good stating point is to understand that SMISA has been in place for years long before any thought/plan came about to look at fan ownership. So away from the BTB campaign Smisa actually has a day job that seems to have become much less visible, the result being a lot of buds being led to believe Smisa is the club, and the club is Smisa. without going through the full definition, Smisa is, (and as long as it remains the 1877 Society) totally independent of the club (although the club dont think, or treat it so). It is a legal entity in its own right, bound to put forward the interests of its members, the community and the 1877 Society above all others. there have been attempts to suggest that the community that Smisa represents is exclusively St Mirren centric, but that is at odds with the legal status and framework a Community Benefit Society must comply with. The club, Smisa committee, members, observers can suggest till the cows come home its just about St Mirren... however the law and body responsible for ensuring Smisa operates and complies as a Community Benefit Society hold sway. I worked tirelessly during my time on the committee to make my colleagues and club fully understand that smisa not only operated within the legal framework set out for it, but was seen to. I worked for twenty years in that sector at senior level knowing everything about how I and the organisation operated had to be first and foremost in the members and society's interest.

A week and a half ago we were being told that Queens were in good form, that Dobbie was going to rip us a new one and that we would be lucky to get a point. Now it’s Queens are in free fall, will lose 3 times to United and are in financial trouble. As Jimmy Greaves would say ‘it’s a funny old game Saint’.

  7. Well that's impressive...... ok I hear Pars had many chances ? Livi have done superb, they have a good big team just don't think they like playing us, as we are small and fast............. we also have a great record there

  11. Obviously i do not know the reasons for Kenny resigning,i do know his input will be missed,we largely agreed on ideas for engaging with groups who exist outside of the club. I resigned from the board of directors of SMiSA but did not cancel my subscription to the trust because i believe that fan ownership is right for our club. The fact that Kenny has stopped his subscription gives me cause for concern,we might find reasons at the trust AGM or in the pages of the accounts, although i believe we are going to see less detail in the accounts this year. I would suggest that for him to cancel his subscription there must be something he does not want his money spent on,and clearly that certain something did not exist when he became involved with the committee,or he would have cancelled it long before now. Pure speculation on my part but it does worry me.

I too voted. I found voting from my PC, my I-pad, my smartphone, my current wife's smartphone, the smartphone of all my children and grandchildren to be a rather worthwhile use of my time

  19. Lol. I will. More seriously. Great to win of course but this is one not to lose. ... in my opinion. I attended the Livvy v DAFC game to have a look at both teams. DAFC are better to watch but Livvy are effective show stoppers.

  20. Think we will get a longer rest. can't see this game being on if this weather keeps up. we know how bad the pitch is there. It's meant to be 6 or 7 degrees and sunny, will definitely be on.

  22. No lack of confidence on my part Mr O but neither would I be complacent. Our form has been outstanding and we have further strengthened our squad. Livvy don't tend to leak goals even when under severe pressure. They are well organised and both work and tackle hard. Their route to the top league, of they have one is through a sound defensive record allied to the above. Our defensive record has improved and we have an excellent goals scored record. My prediction would be a cautious one.... Saints not to lose. A win is possible however.

  27. So the members, smisa after all, voting in favour of something, and the committee then actioning (is that a word?) what the members voted for is against the constitution? You've missed the point here. As a director you have to act responsibly and protect the interests of SMISA, so in essence that's the elected or co-opted directors as opposed to the other committee members. Actioning a vote result is protecting SMISA's interests, failing to take action due to protecting the interests of others (individual, group or other)...or worse, not releasing information that could protect SMISA interests...is not.

  30. No disagreement from me and I paid my way on to watch it. Stats show Livvy committed 18 fouls in a match where the ref tried hard to keep play moving. Also hardly made a forward move in the match. Look at stats for shots. DAFC were parked in their half during the second 45 minutes.

  32. There are some people posting on here trying to turn a resignation from the SMISA committee in to a drama. Hints of all sorts of Machiavellian shenanigans going on. Covert Fans Council spies infiltrating their way on to the SMISA board to try and report back to GS and the club and fleece SMISA of that £2 per month that equates to £8k per quarter. Am I missing something. SMISA was originally formed as an independent group of fans to assist the club where it could but also as a group to ensure that the board at the time were accountable to the fans. SMISA kept that stance all the way through the proposed sale of the club to potential cashless groups. They showed no interest or desire to buy the club. (possibly as they knew they could not backroll it) SMISA then made a decision to put together their own bid to ultimately buy the club. In doing so they need the financial support of both the fans and ultimately some sugar daddy to back roll the whole thing. This is the point where SMISA no longer became independent. You can’t be independent when you are in bed with the very people that you are supposed make accountable. The bit I am missing is the constant debate and derision about committees/board members/£2 monthly spend/SMISA/SMFC/ FC and GS. When in reality they all have the same principal agenda at the end of the day. That agenda is hopefully SMFC. When people join groups/committees/boards they do so with a desire to work and promote the organisation. However they also join with their own agenda. Sometimes you quickly find out that your agenda does not align with the organisation or with the other agendas that individuals have. It should be remembered that GS as 51% shareholder controls the club and everything about it. He as a Director of the club and with the other Directors should still be held accountable and it is SMISA role as a shareholder, having a Director on the board and purchaser of the club to do so. There is so much debate about the £2 spend and who is influencing its expenditure. Its forgotten that the actual spend is ultimately based on a vote not an individual.

  35. You]ll be hard pushed t see any real increase in attendances. It's well documented, we are pretty much as good as we will get, cup runs apart. Plenty "Saints fans" can't get to games on a regular basis for hunners of reasons. Not everybody stays on the doorstep or has the time or money to attend most games.

Shull you have wrote thousands of boring, bland, irritating & vindictive posts over the years, (Samson out & Raith Rovers are most obvious) we could spend a lifetime replying to all the crap you spout but most people see you for what you are a little novelty act that craves attention. If only you could fit under the same rock that the guy from Wishaw is hiding under that would be great.

  38. Disappointed to see Kenny leave altogether. Alas though, you'll probably find a great majority of SMISA members are not interested, happy to pay their money but not interested in actually thinking about things or contributing anything. Therein lies a problem.

  43. Yesterday was the 20th anniversary of the death of my Grampa, Vic Slack. He grew up in Paisley and was St Mirren through and through. His favourite player was Gerry Baker. He was an aircraft fitter in the RAF, and loved playing football, bowls, cricket and snooker. He's the sole reason I support St Mirren. To look at it from another angle, St Mirren are the reason I exist: my Gran was, ahem, 'courting' the Saints goalie at the time, which was when my Grampa noticed her. She went to a dance with the goalie, left with my Grampa, and the rest is history. My avatar pic was taken in his back garden, wearing the strip he bought me when I was born. It took a couple of years to grow into it! Following Saints is how I keep his memory alive. I took this pic of him with my gran (right) and great aunt, at the final in 1987.
